8-1/2 FOOT STAY PUFT COMING SOON

Actually, according to the scale…

6’ people = 6" figures

100’ Marshmallow man = 100" toy

100"/12 inches per foot = 8.33333 ft.

If this inflatable is truly between 8-8.5 feet tall I would say it’s perfect, or at least the closest thing to perfect scale ever mass produced! Unless of course my math is wrong. Anyone want to double check?

SlimeGuy, your math sounds right to me!

Definitely interested as well. Would like to know the realities of the blower motor, etc, for this being a possibility for permanent display.

Does anyone know the exact release of stay puft? our group has an event to do on sept. 17th and we would like to take the big guy with us.

August 15th, 2011.

For all of those who are interested in buying one. We’ve got them for sale here:

We’ve only sold 3 so far.. and we are only ordering enough to cover the pre-orders. So get them in NOW.

Actually Stay Puft wasn’t 100 feet, he was something like 112.5 feet according to the special effects crew, but don’t quote me on that number, I could be remembering it wrong. Anyway, that’s why I said “almost”, in order to avoid turning it into a math thing. But I failed.

Yes, the Stay-Puft costume used during filming was scaled to be 112.5 feet tall.

In the Meet The Special Effects Team featurette on the 1999 DVD, Mark Stetson (the model shop supervisor) states that the height was decided after an agreement could not be reached on whether he should be 100 or 125 feet tall, so they split the difference.

Our order is in. We’re already getting requests for him for conventions in 2012.

Any updated ETA on these?

It would rock if we could have ours in hand by October 1 for the GB screening fundraiser we’re going to.

No word from the distributor about them yet. They are listed as “Not Yet Shipped” which probably means they have them, but they haven’t shipped them out yet.

No news is good news, well, at least when it’s not shipping from digital river.

Mine came in Friday. Here’s what it looked like set up today at our JDRF Walk.

Word of advice…I’d do something on the two bottom rings of Stay Puft’s legs…It got just a tad breezy and the rings ripped off his foot and he deflated. It’s repairable though…just a pain in the butt because we only had it up for 2 hours.

Okay, I’ll say it:

“Now that’s something you don’t see everyday!”

Looks fragile, just as thin as the stay puff costume that just came out. Can you stick a lamp inside to make it glow at night, like those yard snowmen in the wintertime?

Nonetheless, a neat display for the kids!

It’s pretty thin, yeah. There is a zipper in the back that you use to open to deflate it. You may be able to stick a light in there…I dunno, I didn’t really get a good idea on the zipper size. Saw it but didn’t make note of how big the opening was (and didn’t use it as it ended up deflating itself when the hook at the bottom ripped off.

Odds are you could just put a spotlight behind him to light him at night… thats worked for some of our halloween inflatables.

For additional support, maybe also add a string loop around each ankle, combined with a tent stake?

We just put ours up for a few minutes to try him out. The youtube video showed him inflating in about 15 minutes, I think. Ours inflated MUCH faster, 2-3 minutes tops.

The lights in him look like they will show up in the dark quite well, but I think a yard spotlight behind him will work wonders.

I heard about this big guy too. I want one!!! if they made a demon dog…Id buy 2 lol
