There’s a comic artist that will be attending D-Con this year, a fellla by the name of Don Rosa. He’s a fairly welll-known Disney guy, a bit like the contemporary Carl Barks, and I was REALLY hoping to be able to swing a trip down…basically so I could get a single sketch from Mr. Rosa.
Well, it looks like I’m not going to be able to make it, but would still REALLLLY like a sketch from this particular artist…after all, the guy’s getting up there in years, and his eyesight’s not so hot these days.
Might there be someone here, who’s planning on attending, that would be willing to snag a sketch for me from Mr. Rosa? As always, I am more than happy to pay whatever fee the guy charges for the sketch; I’ve done a similar thing earlier this year, and I think the member that was kind enough to get me an autograph from another con would echo the fact that I will pay promptly whatever the fee might be, plus shipping costs.
I’m really hoping that someone will be able to help a brotha out…anyone??
All I want is for someone to go up to Mr. Don Rosa and be like, “I have this friend named Greg who REALLY wanted to be here, but couldn’t make it…all he wanted in just about the whole world was for the extraordinary Mr. Rosa to draw him a sketch of Huey, Dewey, or Louie as a Junior Woodchuck.”
You see this, folks? This is THE Ron Daniels…a man who, despite his perchant for Colonel ties and conservatism, is one of the bar-none most gracious folks lurking around this hole. He not only offered to help, but to *extend *himself doing so.
As is often the case: you all stand to learn a whole lot from the guy. Start taking notes.
