ACEN 09' and Wizardcon 09'

Anybody from the chicago land area thinking about to both? I would love to meet up with all the local Ghostheads at both events at all possible. I will be registering for both next month and plan on suiting up in full gear.

There’s a very slim chance I MIGHT be attending ACEN '09 . I haven’t been to a convention since 2005. Have’nt had the time or people to go with. My best friend is finally getting out of the military for good at the end of march, so I will try to go if he’s up to it. If I went, I also would like to go in full gear as well. It would be my first convention where I actually had a kick-ass costume.

I’ll be at Acen, but not as a GB. However, I will give props if I see you.

I will try and be there. If I do go, I will be in GB gear

I don’t go to ACEN, but I haven’t missed Wizard World Chicago in 8 years.

Guess I won’t be going to ACEN. Checked today and ALL the hotels in the immediate surrounding area are now sold out. Forgot that you have to book that stuff nearly 6 months in advance…I think ACEN has really gotten too big in recent years.

EctoCooler, where are you from? My g/f and I live about 20 minutes away from the convention center. We only plan on going there for one day, if you were to perhaps find a hotel around the Elmhurst / Villa Park area, we could give you a ride, or really anyone else that is only going there for a day.

Looks like Chicago is getting another Convention in 2010…

TOTALLY FREEKIN’ AWESOME!!!**

Looks like I AM going make it to ACEN after all. Did a priceline search and got a deal on the Sofitel next door to the convention center. 4-STAR is the to go Baby!!!

So if you see a guy dressed like a Ghostbuster walking around with a guy wearing a business suit and an “EL SANTO” luchador mask, that would be me.

Dr. LaVoy of the GB:CD here.

After a long sabbatical Engineer Dan Shannon has rejoined the team and will be attending Wizard World in August. Due to scheduling conflicts, he will not be able to attend ACen. However, yours truly will be on hand for both conventions.

Also, to all local Busters finding themselves without a team, we are actively seeking full time member positions. As the current CEO of the division all of the hiring duties have fallen to me.

To become a member, all you need is a flight suit, and preferably your own equipment. (If you do not have something, there may be time for our Engineer to construct some for you for future events.)

There’s a good chance I’ll be at Wiz World Chi-town if enough ghost heads decide to show up…

Alright. I’ve got the new pack up and running and I’ll have the last of the costume pieces I need very soon. Will we want to set up a designated photo shoot time?

Update, my finace and I just registered for Acen and well be attending only on Friday but we plan on being there all day. As we get closer, we’ll plan a time and location to meet up.

Sounds good. Friday GB meet up it is. Also I’ll have the patches for you.

What time will be meeting up because I have other shoots on Friday too.

Also, who’s been talking to me on 4chan?

4chan…

what’s that?

My registration is complete, its just a matter of time till we can meet up. Zack, do you know if Dan will be at ACEN on Friday too? Maybe we can hit a local bar that night or go bowling. Jimmy works at a comic shop right next to a bowling alley in downers grove by COD.

Dan will not be at ACen this year due to a conflicting work schedule, he will be at WW though. And as far as hanging out after the con? It’s a maybe. I have to do a costume change for a photo shoot at 7pm, and I was hoping to catch a quiet moment with my girlfriend. I’ll talk to her about it, maybe we could all go do something.

Zack, sounds like a plan. After Acen, we will be getting our registration on for WWcon. Now just out of curiosity, is it going to also be held at the stevenson conv. center?

It sure will be. Unlike ACen where the con is running 24 hours, and there are panels held at the hotel and convention center, WW is all at the convention center. It’s essentially a giant geek shopping mall. Not to mention all the booths from the various comic publishers as well as booths from movie studios and videogame companies. It’s a huge even and it’s not to be missed.
