Hey guys,
I’m currently working on a short goofball fanfilm involving some proton packs that happen to, you know, fire.
I’ve been looking through some tutorials and advice and wanted to get a discussion going here with some potential advice. Here is what I have thus far:

Neat, huh? I’m clearly not going for a 100%, screen accurate thrower effect currently but I still have some issues with the tutorials and instructions I’ve found.
When applying the wave effect (the one that makes the stream into a wave form that fluctuates) I find that it makes it very hard to ensure the beam originates from the wand. By using the After Effects wave plugin you basically make it so you have to keyframe the origin of the stream for every single frame- even if your origin point matches the wand perfectly.
Does anyone know a way to make it so the beam always originates precisely on the origin point you designate in After Effects?
