At the end of September my group, Frome Ghostbusters was contacted by a local company who manufacture number plates. There has been a lot of press in the news about “ghost plates” and they wanted some help to promote the fact that their products are high quality and all above board.
I was already aware of this company because I’d purchased my own plates from them about 18 months ago and they were offering to do a collab and that they would donate a portion of each sale to charity. We agreed to do it in return for a £5 donation of each order in October (using the code ECTO20), towards Fair Frome. Fair Frome is a local charity supporting vulnerable people in the town through economic hardship and they also run the local food bank. We received no monetary payment for our services.
A script was drafted up and myself, my wife and a colleague from a franchise down the road turned up. Limitations on when we could film sadly limited the number of uniformed busters available but three worked well.
Their social media rep had everything in hand giving us directions on where to stand, what to say etc and we commenced filming, almost crashing into each other at one point towards the beginning haha.
Anyway it features a plush slimer that they puppeted to give the effect of it being alive and I drove my RTV around their car park. If you look carefully you’ll see a little miniature numberplate on the front, RTV 1.
They started off with some vertical video teasers on Facebook, insta and TikTok etc but also put up the widescreen version onto YouTube for their “Ectober” deal.
I appreciate this is borderline spam but if anyone is in the UK and is interested then please use the code ECTO20 for 20% off orders with £5 from each order being donated to Fair Frome. Visit the website www.aplates.co.uk to use their online plate builder tool.
If you don’t need any plates then just enjoy the little video, it’s only a minute long.
