We invite you to the second annual Mass Hysteria with the Alabama Ghostbusters!
Alabama Phoenix Festival returns for its third year, but this time at a new location! Join us as we invade the Birmingham Sheraton downtown for a weekend full of events, guests and creativity.
Here’s what the ALGB has planned for you at this year’s event:
We are thrilled to announce that IDW Ghostbusters comic book artist Dan Schoening will be our Guest of Honor at Mass Hysteria/Alabama Phoenix Festival 2014!
Dan began drawing at an early age, finding inspiration in classic Disney films and 80′s Saturday morning cartoons. Since graduating from animation school in 2000, Dan has worked for companies such as Disney, Pixar, Leap Frog, DC Comics,Random House, Upperdeck, AKA Studios, Ape Entertainment and IDW Publishing.
Currently, Dan is the pencil artist on IDW’s Ongoing Ghostbusters monthly comic.
In addition to Dan, we’ll have panels celebrating the 30th anniversary of “Ghostbusters” and the 25th anniversary of “Ghostbusters 2.” We’ll also host an interactive screening of “Ghostbusters” on Saturday, May 31. We’ll also have our ever-popular Slime Lab, a photo scavenger hunt and ALGB University!
We’ll also have Proton Pics, a new fundraising photo opportunity where you throw on a flight suit and pack for a small donation to our charity partner, Camp Smile-A-Mile. For a $5 donation, you can wear our gear and take a photo with your camera/phone. For a $10 donation, we’ll take your photo and add in proton streams and email it to you shortly after APF.
Also benefiting Camp SAM is a Matty trap giveaway! The trap is signed by Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson. All the details on how to donate and be entered for the drawing can be found here!
