ALICE LC1 vs. LC2

I commissioned a fully built proton pack replica and while I’m happy with the way it turned out overall, one thing that stood out to me with it once I put it on was the huge gap between the pack and my back. After looking at the packs in the movies again and looking at other replicas online, the gap doesn’t seem as big. I contacted the builder of my pack about it and they informed me they only use LC2 ALICE frames and suggested I look into an LC1 frame. I noticed that here on GBFans they sell LC1s, but was wondering if anyone here could tell me with confidence if that will be the solution to my gap problem – if that is one of the differences between the models. I just don’t want to spend the money only to find out the frames are essentially the same and the gap may be due to something else.

Pics may help

From what I understand, the problem is that the pack’s motherboard is sitting too far away from the ALICE frame.

If that’s the case, just trim down the three supports that sit between the two and call it a day.

Switching frame styles will only effect the support that sits in the center of your back, as the cross-brace it attaches to sits about a half inch closer to you on the LC-1 packs than on the LC-2s.

Thanks for the advice! I’ll post some pics tonight to give a clearer idea of what I’m working with.

Okay, no pics necessary … I foolishly asked the original question without looking very closely at my pack, which I did tonight. Upon closer examination, it was 3 wooden spacers between the pack and the frame that caused the huge gap. I removed them and it aesthetically looks much better now to me. Thanks again!
