American bar guide

Hey everyone,

I’m jetting to the USA in June/July, and I just want to find out what the locals recommend for some good pubs/bars/restaurants? Anything quirky cool or rock 'n roll that’s worth checking out?

Here’s where I’ll be:

Orlando (for the DeLorean expo, but I’m there for a whole week)

Washington DC

New York City (staying at Hotel 31 in midtown)

Chicago

Las Vegas

Los Angeles

Burbank

Waikiki

Australians don’t drink Fosters, by the way. It’s a rule

NY anything goes, literally.

Chicago I’d recommend The Parthenon: http://www.theparthenon.com/

Orlando, like most of Florida, is alternately a tourist-trap and a ■■■■■■■■.

When you’re in Burbank, check out Tony’s Darts Away. Tony’s has over 40 taps of California craft beer and a pretty good selection of sausages and snacks to soak it all up. Also check out Blipsy’s Barcade in Los Angeles. Booze and Video games…nuff’ said.

most of the better bars are away from the attractions area, the locals know to stay away from there. downtown is really the place to go.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Blipsy’s and Tony’s sound really cool, I looked them up on Google.

How do you rate House Of Blues in Chicago? Are they all the same, or has Chicago got something special the other franchises don’t?

In Vegas I’m staying at NY NY, been there before and really enjoyed it. This time I’m gonna hire a Harley for the day and ride out to Rachel NV and visit the “Little Ale’inn Cafe” that’s in all the movies. I think it’s only 2 hours down the highway from Vegas.

When you’re in New York, be sure to go to New York.

Go to McSorelys when your in New York. It’s the oldest bar here. They make their own beer. Really cool place
