Another boring belt gizmo build

Hi all,

I want to share my belt gizmo build. It only cost me trashing an old broken Telefunken radio for all the small components, printing the HProps circuit board, cutting up a DVD case and buying (slightly oversized) nixie tubes for cheap on ebay.

Plus some model paint, glue and some other stuff I already had.

Also, looking at all the brilliant reference pics on these boards, it was easy to come up with something quite close to what they used for GB1. Of course, y’all will see that I have taken a few liberties here and there and some proportions are off.

I’m quite happy though with my first self-built GB “prop” replica.

The holster is from TygerCheex and I really like it.

I’m still looking for some golden decal foil, and of course a correct(ish) coil cord.

I also have a resin nixie holder coming my way together with a trap kit, but that might not fit above thenixies I used (they are IV-6 instead of IV-9, so they are slightly bigger).

Here’s some pics:

The white tab on the bottom right is the base to glue/screw/rivet the coiled cord plug on.

The other end of the cable will loop through the small eyelet on the daughter board.

Here’s what’s behing the nixie shelf:

boring build maybe, end result excellent  hopefully mine will turn out as well.

Thanks, man!

Here’s the completed piece on my belt, with metallic “connectors” on the bottom of the motherboard plus the coiled cable.

Still waiting for the resin nixie holder rack, but it definitely does the job even without one. I’m really happy with how it turned out considering the total cost.
