Does anyone think there are any 59’s still sitting out there in a junkyard or somebody’s yard waiting to be found?
Yes, absolutely, however how many left really depends on what your looking for. We know that there were around 2000 1959 Cadillac Commercial Chassis Vehicles made that year. That includes all pro car manufactures. Now Ecto-1 was a Miller Meteor Futura, there were less than 90 of these produced and so far we can account for about 1/3 of them. People are still finding them in swamps, in barns, in junk yards, etc. If your really dead set on a 59 Cadillac my advise if to save your money. do research and find leads while you save up. Be patient and don’t give up, and if you don’t find one, than you would have a good chunk of savings that can go on another car that is close.
