I was just trying to see how many other military people there are on here. I was in the US Army for 11 years as an E-6 Cav Scout at fort riley. So if you care to add to this thread do it no matter what branch or country.

retired 11H …reservist…remember 1/4 ton jeeps? I was around when the tow missiles were jeep mounted…Also we actually used anpvs 5s back then…what a pain in the ass night vision…
Yeah we had a couple of those still layin around the arms room for what reason I don’t know why. They were so blurry it was like lookin out a frosted green window.
I’ve been in The Army for 8 years now (3 active, 5 in the Naitonal Guard) I was w/the 101st Airborne Div on active and went to Iraq with them from Feb 2003 - Feb 2004.
although not in the military, I’ve always loved collecting militaria, I have bayonnets, a cavalry sword, parts to a WW2 uniform bla bla bla…So I have a profound respect for you guys— the best of the best. The sad fact of the matter is that I’m just not man enough to be in the military with my little girl arms and all.

there are plenty of us that care about you guys, we just have no control. do not listen to any media, even the respective branch news. I wanted to go into the Air Force so bad until they kicked me out of AFROTC in college. after than i just let myself go. really miss the lifestyle and the friendships.
let me be the first on this thread to say it. THANKS, to all of you active, reserve, or retired; for all the things you do, wheather its cooking, cleaning a shitter, or flying a plane. you all make this country great, and i love each and everyone of you for it.

11B, PA Army National Guard. Got back from Iraq about a month and a half ago. I’ve got just over a year left on my contract, so hopefully I won’t have to get shipped to Afghanistan.
6 years active duty Army, assigned to Ft. Bragg. Currently deployed to the Philippines.
my father served. my step father served. I cannot join due to my under average weight. If i can get up there (i’m trying) I’m serving in the air force.
I respect and salute all that have and are in the services.

Didn’t realize how long ago it was until looking at it. I don’t have blond hair anymore and I don’t wear glasses anymore.
My husband is still in, he’s been in for 15 years. He’s also a Corpsman.
My Girlfiend Is a Former Marine
