On average I’ve probably found it closer to one week rather than two, but I’ve found it’s usually a week between said item arriving in the UK and my getting the customs charge. Experiences may vary with others, though.
Perhaps my post office is a lot better than I’ve ever gave credit to them for, but recent example was I had an item arrive on the Monday in customs, 2 days later got the card, paid the charge and then had the item the following Monday. (The card came on a Thursday and I only paid on Friday)
I just paid £33.80 which Is for the import VAT and clearance fee which brings my total for the neutrona wand to £180.65 I had already guessed it would be about 175-180 altogether so I was only 65p out and should get it by 28th of Feb.
I bought both of Crix’s pack kits (some time ago) and never got hit with charges, its a gamble but if you are “caught” its never too bad, its the handling fees that Royal Mail charge
and everything i’ve bought from the GBfans shop has thus far come without being caught by customs so perhaps Aj’s lucky
