Anyone have experience using PT Flex 85-85A / PlatSil 71-20?

I wanted to try my hand at creating hose connector for my uniform, so I looked for rubber casting tutorials on Youtube. There I found a series of tutorials showing how to create rubber hand-held props with a Platinum Silicone mold and PT Flex.

It was all pretty cut and dry and appeared to be exactly what I was looking for, so I took down notes of all the materials used and placed an order.

The chemicals arrived in the mail a few days ago, along with several data and safety bulletins. I poured over them carefully, wanting to make sure that I’ll do everything safely… but a lot of the wording wasn’t very clear to me, and I forgot that chemistry was NOT my strong suit. So now I’m left with the following questions before I can proceed (I actually contacted the company I ordered these chemicals from first… with my questions, but they have yet to respond and I’d like to meet my Halloween deadline if possible)…

It’s unclear to me if PT Flex is toxic to the touch even after curing. I wouldn’t think so, after seeing several videos showing how to use it in making hand-held props, but… then again, I don’t know how safety conscious the people making the videos were. Is there still a level of toxicity after curing? If so, is it “wash your hands immediately after handling / it will absorb through your skin” toxic or “just don’t put it in your mouth and you’ll be fine” toxic?

It’s also unclear to me if PT Flex remains highly flammable even after curing. If it does remain flammable are we talking about only in extreme conditions, or could a errant spark set my uniform ablaze?

The data sheet goes on to mention that PT Flex isn’t for outdoor use and that projects will yellow and become chalky after exposure to sunlight (wish I would have known that before ordering, but it’s my own fault for not researching the product beforehand). What time frame are we talking about here? Is it like most plastics, where if left by a window for a few months it would yellow… or are we talking about only a few hours of exposure? Because if the hose connector develops a little bit of an aged look overtime, I think that would actually help my costume’s appearance… but, if it instead turns lemon yellow after a day outside, well that’s a serious problem.

Finally, where the PT Flex is concerned… do you think the hose connector would survive the occasional gentle cycle in a washer? After reading all of these warnings, I’m not even sure if it wouldn’t chemically react in some way with detergent, or even the water…

As for the Platinum Silicon, will it react badly in any way if the master nozzle I’m going to make a mold of (with the silicon) contains white glue, super glue, or hobby filler putty?

Sorry for all the noob questions, but I am a noob where mixing chemicals is concerned. It’s not something I meant to dive blindly into (I didn’t think I was). The process itself is an easy mix equal parts A & B recipe. But in my inexperience, and eagerness to reach a deadline, it didn’t occur to me to research the individual chemicals and ask these questions beforehand.

Any help from any of you old pros would be appreciated (especially the safety conscious ones).
