On Saturday, August 15th, 2009, the Arizona Ghostbusters helped out at the Chase Field 80’s Night. 80’s Night is a regular theme event for fans at Arizona Diamondbacks baseball games. Also at the event was our sister charity organization the local 501st Dune Sea Garrison. We were also joined by a K.I.T.T, Mr. T with A-Team Van and Robocop with Turbocruiser courtesy of http://www.willitmakeit.com. We helped with many events before and during the game and interacted with fans in the main concourse area. Some of these events included a trivia contest and t-shirt tossing during the 6th inning. We had a great response from the attendees at the game from young and old alike and had an awesome time. We’ll be back at the stadium again soon for Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Day. This event was also the first outing for our newest member Cody McGuire who made us proud. The game was against the Dodgers which I’m happy to report the Diamondbacks won.

He’s just a really good Mr.T. They went all out at the game. There were alot of fans in 80’s gear as well as alot of the employees. They showed 80’s music videos before the game on all the screens throughout the stadium, you can see that in the background of Cody’s picture. I forgot to mention that. Even on the actual tv broadcast, they used alot of 80’s styled graphics and music.
It was Brad, definitely something you and your team should look into as well as any team. I’m sure alot of stadiums have similiar events or would consider having one.
Thanks. Almost every game here has some kind of theme or promotion to it, plus they do all kind of games on the field between innings. They put alot into every game to make them as fun as possible. Weekend games like this are the best since they have the largest crowds and more people from out of state.
Besides the team mascot, they have the promotional ones, like the Taco Bell guy, running around. They have a “food fight” where food mascots race across the field. Each represents a section of the stadium as well, so whichever character wins the race, that section of the stadium wins that type of food.
Thanks. Robo is awesome. This was our second event with him. The paint on the car was still drying when it was rolled inside. They’re working on it still and already had the old computer installed in the dash. He gets around amazingly well through the crowds.
Man looks like that was a fun time.. Now I just know I am going to hear about you guys being there from my uncle on Monday.. that’s his favorite team. and he is usually at every game.
