I decided needed a better way to keep a Lithium-polymer battery pack secured to the Alice frame of my Proton Pack. So, I designed a 2-part, keyed keeper that secures a battery pack to the 1" wide upright member of the frame. (I’m not comfortable charging or using a LI-Po pack inside my shell… I’m overly-cautious, so I charge and store my batteries away from my props)
Space between the 1" wide upright member and the motherboard is just over 1" on my pack…
Here’s what it looks like installed (I colored the edges of the battery pack black to help hide it)…
This 9600mAh Li-Po cell measures 5"T x 2.5"W x .875"T… the keeper only adds 1/8"… so if you have a 1" or greater gap between your central frame member and your pack’s motherboard, this will work for your battery pack.
The male half is secured to the cell with adhesive… the female half will slip into place after the battery is positioned.

I secured the male portion of the clip to the battery using Shoe Goo (Goop) adhesive…

Here’s the pack with the female portion of the clip in place… tapered interference fit is very secure.
