Belt gizmo capacitors?

Hey folks. I’m currently putting together my belt gizmo, and I have nearly all the parts. My only problem is the capacitors. I’m aware that they’re 14mm, but I can’t seem to find a place to purchase them. Radio Shack doesn’t have this size, and none of the online electronics suppliers I’ve seen list the dimensions of their capacitors. I’ve probably looked at the correct ones a dozen times and not even known it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I can give you the part number of the real ones but even with that they’re pretty hard to buy online. Your best bet is to scour the local electronic shops, Radio Shack never has much of anything useful.

Here is what is printed on the real capacitors in the order it’s listed:

That was a sexily fast response. Thank you, buddy. That could come in handy, but I’m not terribly concerned if they’re entirely accurate. I’m just hoping to find the same size and roughly the same color. Or are you just saying that in general there sort of capacitors are hard to come by?

I got some of the same size and the color at Fry’s Electronics man! They are awesome! Happy haunting!

I’m building 10 gizmos and I need to get a whole mess of those. I’ll check out Frys on Friday and I can grab spares if they have them. Thanks Eric, don’t know why I didn’t think of Frys right away.

I’m also building about 7 belt gizmos, so that link should really come in handy. 10 for $0.60 is not a bad deal at all (seeing as each circuit board needs 8 capacitors). Thanks, Jack Doud; by the way, your belt gizmo is the best replica out there.

i think i used these ones from radio shack:

i had to raid 2 store to find the 8 that i needed…apparently they only stock 4 (2 packs) at each store. not 100% accurate. but common and they’re the right size.

I just got an order from Digikey. If the disc capacitors look good, I’ll post the part number (everything is bagged, and I have homework to do).

Just a heads up, the link to allelectronics for the capacitors is old and not the correct caps.

You are correct, sir. I should have probably posted that in case anyone found the thread like you have. When I ordered them last year, they had the right size pictured but what I received was TINY. The ones at Radio Shack looked too small to me, but once I bought them and stuck them on there they seem to be the right size.
