Long time since I have visited the boards but news of the videogame had me running back here. But my question was since I hear some of the developers might be running around these boards… anyone think there may be a need for beta testers? I am sure the board would love to take on the task…
I’m fairly certain they will not be sending random copies of the game out there. Beta testers are usually employeed to work inhouse and trained to provide effective analysis of specific levels and gameplay.
Well since I have never been employed by a software company but have done my fair share of beta testing…
I will say they almost always have outside beta testers as the game progresses, the more people testing the better input you can get… They also like to have the public beta testing pool varied in system configurations and installed software so they can get a better feel of conflicting hardware or even software…
And, yes they almost always want experienced people that will give valid input or at least have some experience in beta testing…
Theres been a few games where they have released a Beta to the public (but to only a small number), a mate of mine wanted to get on the Halo 3 Beta but missed out, normally Betas are run by persons associated with the game company to ensure correct feedback…■■■■■■■■■ Halo players will have played the Beta into the ground.
I have a source who tested a few levels. They told me about the game the same day it was announced to the public (non-disclousure agreement). He gave me the heads up on the test footage at the Sedgwick being the training level as well as a few other little goodies…nothing that is mind blowing or super secret.
The only time they do serious Public Beta testing is when the game’s Core point is going to be Multi-player, and Personally I Cant see GB being a Core Multiplayer game.
I think you may have A.I. Ghostbusters in the game helping you out sometimes, then you cross the streams and, well you know what happens. :vinzclortho:
Multi player IS confirmed for the Wii and PS2 version, but not the x-box 360/PS3/PC version. I’m hoping we’ll get it though.
