Biltmore Hotel Shooting Locations

Recently stayed at the Biltmore with my special lady who is also GB fan…

Wondering which floors were used in the filming of the hallway and Slimer Scenes.

I know the hotel has been remodeled extensively since shooting took place in 83.

Thanks

Pull out your PKE and check for valances. Or slime residue

(honestly I have no idea even how much of it was shot at the actual hotel.)

The main areas that were used for filming were the exterior, the main Lobby, the reception area (former music room) which served as the Sedgewick’s ballroom, and one of the main staircases, which served as the staircase in Dana’s apartment building.

Little known fact: The “Plaza Hotel” where the woman’s coat is brought to life in Ghostbusters II, is actually the exterior of the Biltmore. It’s the exact same street entrance that the Ghostbusters use in the first film.

I thought those staircase’s seemed familiar. At one point I even leaned over and looked down and thought to my self "That sure looks like Dana’s Apartment.

We were staying on the 10th floor. The hotel people told us that movie crews usually use the 9th-11th floors. The weird thing about that hotel is the floor plans. Lots of long hallways and turns.

Just curious, any body got stills?

The hotel staff was very nice to us. Anytime She and I would wear our gb shirts, one of the staff would comment about it, like they took pride in it.

A great experience

one thing about the videogame that bothers me is that the interior looks different from the movie, even though it had only been a few years (six or seven right?) between the events of the first movie and the game - I suppose they could’ve remodeled but thats one of the things that bums me out whenever I play it…

Dude you were lucky, that’s really surprising to hear. The day we took this picture they practically ran us off the property.

Well, sadly in this economy…money talks. Since we were staying there, they were alot more accommodating.

Yea we were guests and the practically ate out of our hands. I know for a fact that one Concierge spoke very warmly of the “group of guys that showed up in there suits and took a picture with the car in front of the hotel.”

So Cenzo, some people liked it…besides…I did a little PR work for the So Cal GB’s were all good.

FoxyZ, the weekend was awesome

For any body that care, this post is done. They shooting location of Sedgwick Hotel bust scenes was shot on the 4th floor of the Biltmore hotel. If you watch GB you can see the room numbers on a few of the doors.

If these had been sets built on a sound stage then I believe the appropriate room numbers would have been put on the floor considering they were supposed to be on the 12th floor.

This thread can also be deleted.

There’s no way they could’ve set those walls on fire in the actual Hotel corridors when they were shooting at Slimer.

The Ballroom’s different, as that could be closed off, as back in the day it wasn’t the Lobby… (and they installed false walls)

But the hotel corridors aren’t shot in the Biltmore.

I do believe all of the hallways were a set. I’m pretty sure they said that in the director’s commentary.

I am one of the “any body that care”, but I don’t want it to be deleted, as I don’t think it’s done!

There is more to be discovered and discussed!
