Bob Wobbaz' ecto goggles with lights NEW VIDEO

Hey, well these have been finished for some time but haven’t got around to posting my build of them. They were made like most using a pair of weilding goggles, micelaneous plumbing and electrical conduit parts from BnQ, the overall cost was around £20 which I’m very happy with for my first goggles.

The lighting kit was a cheap chaser kit I picked up from Maplin, cost around £7, incredibly easy to put together, though one minor gripe was the resistors were too powerful and the LEDs shone too dimly, I swapped them some lower resistance ones and they look great. They have an ocilator which allows me to control the speed and a few strobing functions, pretty cool. Came with all red LEDs but i bought some green and yellow. Well, here’s my build

The adjustment knobs were a few electrical connectors I spied, they’re knurled perfectly and I just threaded a bolt through them

Those goggles look the Mutz Nutz mate!!! Great idea with the LED’s, especially changing a few out for different colours.

I need a switch or two for my build…did you get those in Maplin’s too?

Keith

Thanks a lot  Yeah the switch was from maplin too. It’s an illuminated switch which I was originally going to wire to the circuits and make my on off switch, but the board has its own switches which made it impossible so it’s just there for decoration.

Hey here’s a video of the goggles and the lights in action
