booster frame ridges

i’m making a new booster frame for my proton pack, and i was wondering what are some of things you used for the ridges on the sides, i tried that window stuff, but it didn’t work too well for me

Styrene strips.

:walterpeck: durp, thanks

Rubber floor mats.

where do you get those at AJ

Go to a craft store and find the section where they keep the foam and flowers. They’ll have lengths of straight green steel wire there. Snip that to length, and superglue or epoxy it to the backing. Epoxy would probably be best in this case because when I tried it with the superglue I ended up gluing my fingers to the wires.

don’t you hate it when that happens

I’ve done worse. When I was putting the finishing touches on my pack, I superglued my fingers to my brand new mouse.

I have some corrugated rubber strips that I could send you, it’s what was supposedly used on the real frames. PM me if interested.

PM sent

Got it. My net is slow now due to weather (crappy satellite internet).

I used a cut down IDE cable from some old computers in my build.

anyone have a pic of the rubber floor mats method? I cant imagine what it looks like.

I just made a wood framework, and then used layers of black craft foam, painted over with flat black house paint, so the texture would match the rest of our packs, and that worked well.

What you want is Non slip rubber flooring they used to sell it by the foot at lowes you might be able to find it at mom and pop stores or seach online

What you need to look for is the fine ribbed flooring heres some stuff thats close just search online

Infact after searching the site I found a thread the stuff gbrob is useing is the same stuff that lowes used to sell!!

Hmmm… I could use that same stuff for our trap pedals, if I ever build them!

this is all really good stuff guys, and I thank you, but I ended up using “L” shaped styrene strips for my frame, i even got the brick pattern for it.

FYI, it’s not supposed to be a brick pattern. It’s just the back side of the MDF board they used to make the frame.

i thought the pieces in the center of the frame had the pattern

There is a brick pattern as seen here:
