CAD Program for designing GB gear

Anyone know a basic, not too expensive CAD program that I can use to make 3D objects?

I want to use it make more proton pack designs and what not.

Before I moved from AZ back to CA I had access to this really nice expensive CAD program called CATIA. And if you look in my gallery I was able to design a whole bunch of GB gear, new trap, pack, goggles, etc. Well, now that I am home I have no CAD program whatsoever, but the ideas are still comin, and while I can draw, I can’t get the full detail that I want and get the dimensions just right, and MS Paint doesn’t even come close to giving me what I need.

So…anyone?

Check out caligari.com and download trueSpace.

Its an entry level 3D modeler with lots of features. And since Microsoft acquired the company, its now freeware.

I learned 3D on truespace before moving up to Maya.

I’m download that now CPU,Google Sketchup is another easy to use CAD program,I started modeling with that so you may want to check into it as well.

Cool, thanks guys.

No prob man,I’m here to help.

Okay, I got the Google Sketchup, initial thoughts aren’t too nice. However I will blame it on just trying to dive right in and use it. The format is significantly different from what I was using before (CATIA), so I guess I’m just going to have to learn from scratch like I did with the other program.
