I had never seen it before and assumed some guy slapped an RGB sticker on it and called it “rare” to make a buck. Turns out, it IS rare and I saw another one go up from a totally different seller and it also had the RGB sticker. So it’s obviously not from the EXTREME GB line and I checked all the old Milton games to see if one of them might have had some kind of prop included, but this toy must be from overseas or something.
In the other auction, it shows it with a fingergrip handle underneath and the seller mentioned there was a battery compartment and it made noise as well. So this thing was electronic. It seems like there’s a small opening towards the front of the meter where there might have been space to insert something, like a disc. My guess it may have shot discs out, but who knows.
If anyone could shed light on this cool toy, I’d love to hear it!

That’s wild it was actually a projector game, seems ahead of it’s time being able to project a game on a wall and play it at the same time. I bet no one even knew what it was when they were selling it. They just said it made noise! Thanks much
That’s because it is missing the disc. There is supposed to be a large plastic disk about 4 inches across that inserts into the front of the unit. The “walls” that you must “drive” through are physically etched into the disc. Tiny translucent “ghosts” snapped into the disc as well. The projector simply shines a light across the surface of the disk to create the illusion that you are navigating through a maze. As the disc turns, you move forward. As you move left and right, the projector bulb moves inward or outward on the disc. If you “crash” into a wall or a ghost, the game is over.
So it is useless to be used as intended without the disc.

I had never heard of this toy either, but I recently won one in a great auction for a bunch of different ghostbuster items. The seller didn’t list the “dodge in the dark” game in the title or even showed it in the main picture so I think most people didn’t even know it was in the lot. I think I got a pretty good deal!!!
I had one growing up. It was pretty cool but when you “messed up” it would make a horibble gears grinding noise that later led to its death.. and then.. I’m sure my mom threw it out.
When I was searching online for those pictures, I found someone selling a fully complete one for $65.00. Can’t vouch for the seller, but that’s what I saw.
They are pretty neat and they appear to be from England. They are larger then a normal scanner… but I have a friend who is a graphic designer. I will see if he has a way.
