The Universal Studios Ecto-1 was purchased by a private collector two years ago and restored with accurate movie parts. The car is now making a showing at AdventureCon 2008 in Knoxville Tennessee along with Ernie Hudson. Fans will be able to get a photo with Ernie & the Ecto-1 and then have the opportunity to get it autographed.

I was looking for a reason to go to AdventureCon this year…
The Knoxville Ghostbusters will be there. We were going anyway but Paul Francis, the owner of the universal Ecto, asked if we’d help out. I am totally stoked!!!

I will be there again this year. I will not have a booth set up unfortunatly, but, I will have my new gun that I am working on signed.

That sounds really good, but we are doing our “big” trip in April visiting my sister in IL.
Ok, it’s official, I made my reservations today. I’ll be there Friday and Saturday, but only suited up on Saturday. My brother will be with me, sporting his Indiana Jones gear.

The Knoxville Ghostbusters will be in uniform definitely on Friday, possibly Saturday. Be sure to stop by and see us. We’ll be sporting our refitted packs as well as the Extreme pack. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone.
I am not going because of day job schedule not being compatible… this said, 2 of our Montreal group will be there in costume… so if you see some french speaking ghostheads, say “bonjour!”

I just found out that Ernie is not going to be appearing on Friday now. It must have been a last minute change because he was scheduled for all 3 days. I’m really disappointed now. We’ll still be there but I won’t get to meet Ernie now, due to my brother’s college graduation on Saturday in Ohio.
Damn. Hopefully he’ll do Dragon Con or Comic Con.
yeah i wont be going either…i have the choice of the con this weekend or going to new york in october…ill be going to new york…im sure ill have other chances to meet ernie…i was also really looking foward to seeing the car…and getting ernies autograph since his is the only of the gb’s i dont have…but some other time i guess…maybe next year
Wow. And I mean WOW.
I am EXTREMELY disappointed, and frankly, fairly angry. I paid for a VIP ticket, and now won’t be able to chat with our buddy Ernie, which was essentially my whole reason for going.
I’ll still be there on Fri., but will likely be fairly disgruntled. :sigh:

Knowing Ernie from my limited experience and the reports from so many others who have met him, I’d assume he’d only cancel an appearance if there was no other choice. Sorry to hear it’s left you out of pocket, Greg. I hope you have a blast despite the setback.
I’ve no doubt, but it doesn’t make me any less miffed.
It’s an issue of timing, as the event’s only 3 days from now; I appreciate that it’s probably unavoidable, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it one bit.
