Cheers from Pittsburgh

Greetings…

My name is Matt. This is my first online posting ever..so sorry if it sucks! I’ve been a Ghostbuster fan for as long as I can remember..My timeline is a bit backwards..I was introduced to the Ghostbusters cartoons before I ever saw the movies…I was pretty young and I never really figured out why my parents would laugh the whole way through them…meanwhile I’m rooting for them to trap ghosts. Now I could watch both movies every day and laugh my head off…

Anyway…I built a Proton Pack, a Ghost Trap, Ecto Goggles, and a Slime Blower…still working on the PKE Meter..but I’m slacking on it hard core..I have the Iona Shoe Polisher…but the NHL season has kept my attention away from production…one day I’ll figure out how to post pictures and I’ll put them up for critique.

I started building props when I broke my collar bone during a college hockey game..I basically couldn’t do anything…well Ghostbusters was on Spike and I thought “How cool would it be to have a Proton Pack”…Next thing I know I’m drawing plans…and own a pack!..my obsession took off from their.

Thank you to A.J. Quick for enticing me to write this!

Oh and if anyone knows what the Ecto-1’s touring schedule is..please let me know..it has always been a dream of mine to see the most amazing car ever! Thanks!

Howdy Matt! Post some pictures of your props!

greeting fellow Pittsburgher! Go to the penalty box for high sticking and no posting of prop pictures! : P

I got a free Photobucket account and “dumb down” the resolution of my pics before sending them there, I open 2 windows on Firefox browser, and click on the image link on Photobucket, and paste it on my thread here. Good luck!

PS I’m coordinating Pgh GB stuff, so drop me a PM or something.

How do people post pictures right into the forum? They’re doing what you do, Brad? Greetings MJSpiegel.

As far as I know they are. I learned here on the site. I think AJ told me how. copy and paste link from Photobucket.

Welcome Matt.

Be sure to upload pictures of your props to the site via your Control Panel.

Howdy,

Ron…gonna work on uploading pictures now.

Brad…good to hear from a Pittsburgher…Go Pens!!! I’ll drop you a PM in a little while…GB events in Pittsburgh, that would be great fun!

Alright..gotta go figure out this control panel thing..wish me luck!

Thanks guys!

AWESOME slime blower. I really really wanna make one. Didn’t know how easy it was. As far as the finding of all the parts from the plans and topics about it. How easy it would be to go about it since the info and parts aren’t as straight forward. I’ve seen the various plans and topics on proptopia but really need to start making a definitive list of everything it will take. Great work! On everything.

Those are soem really awesome props dude.

Thank you for the very kind words guys!!!

Zack…the Slime Blower was not a cake walk like I had envisioned…honestly, I spent countless hours looking for all the parts I used…unlike the Proton Pack, which is well documented, the Slime Blower is not documented hardly at all. It may not be 100% accurate..but I tried my very best…The biggest downfall is it is very heavy…I had to beef up my shoulder muscles before I was able to carry this thing around…Luckily the weight is well centered as it is mostly in the 3 foot long sewer tube, which if I remember correctly, has a 3/8" thick wall thickness…poor choice, but the most accurate diameter I could find…anyway…send me a message if you need any tips and I’ll help the best I can.
