Okay, I have yet to call Richie in on this, but I think I have a plan.
Friday August 22nd
Meet up at my place at 6:30PM, then out to Heritage Sqaure for turkey legs. We can stop at Colorado Mills if we’re hungry for anything else. Then on to Laser Quest on Hampden where we can, I dunno, cross the streams or whatever. After that, Ecto-ing in LoDo in costume. Should be a blast.
Almanfish, Crix, and Richie, contribute to the thread more often!
EDIT: also, cross streets or somewhere to meet up would probably help, I work at the Federal Center (6th and Kipling) but live down off Colorado and I-25.
Well I am now offcially here. Sorry bout the late start, but I’ve been wary of message boards, since the last one just went down down down… Alright, just so everyone knows, I live offcially in Aurora, CO. The name’s Josh and I’m glad to be a part of the CO group!!
September 13 is the Forney Transportation Museum’s star car day. There will be a Pursuit Special from Mad Max, three classic KITTs, and one new KITT from the show, along with my cars.
The plan is to go there and hang out from around 10 til 1, then convoy down to Nan Desu Kan and spend the rest of the evening Ghostbusting it up.
OH YEAH! Gonna be a blast. Sorry 4 not posting much here, I have WAY to many message boards to check. I had requested the day off & I hope the Mock-2 Pack that Josh is helping me with will be ready by then.
I’ll be there with Shauna throughout most of the weekend. Companion Cube costume, Nabeshin costume, all that jazz.
Saturday, September 13: Knight Rider and Star Car Show at the Forney Transportation Museum followed by NDK
This is an event at the Forney to promote the new Knight Rider tv series. There will be three classic KITTs there, the new KITT, a Pursuit Special from Mad Max, and I think a Herbie replica. I’ll be taking both the Ecto and the Jeep to go on display, too. This runs from 10am to 3pm, but we will likely duck out early and take the cars to NDK, where we will spend the rest of the afternoon/evening trouncing about in full GB gear. LOTS of picture-taking. Alex, depending on whether or not you feel like taking you pack, I have a spare Jurassic Park ranger costume that is pretty boss and would fit you. CRIX, we’ve missed out on our last couple of meetings (my bad!), hoping to see you at NDK!
Sunday, September 13: Nan Desu Kan
The final day of NDK. As per Shauna, I will still be there, though maybe not in costume. You fellas are welcome to join me.
Sunday, September 21: AWDPirates Red Rocks Meet
I will be taking the Jeep and the Ecto to Red Rocks for this Subaru meet. I think it would be hilarious for the girls to be in costume and do the whole “car show girl” thing, though. It’s up to them. I’d also like to have some sort of bbq grill there for hot dogs or something, who knows. Usually they are quite fun, lots and lots of cars. Almost ZERO nerds, though. These are the types of guys who own and modify subaru racing cars. Don’t dork it up for us!
Also, I have received an invitation from a man in Firestone, CO (east of Longmont) who would like to see us make an appearance at his son’s middle school fund raiser on September 27. Here is his letter:
This sort of thing sounds like fun, but can be a nightmare if a)they are expecting something different from us just standing around and having pictures taken of us, like maybe busting a ghost, which we cannot do and b) if you’re no good with kids/don’t want to risk having 12-year olds pull on your ion arms. Hey, it can happen, just be prepared for it. I wanted to go over this idea with you guys before we replied with a definite yes or no. Thoughts?
As soon as my new job starts up and I get a better idea of when I’ll be working, we can arrange our trips to Elitch’s for GhostBlasters, Boo at the Zoo, and other things.
I’m not good with kids at all. Soooo I don’t know. I think everybody else is though. I might either skip those or deal with them lol. I did quit the toy store after all
Firestone, eh? It sounds cool, in that I’d feel like we were doing something…um “good” with our hobby I guess. HOWEVER, Lea reminded me that we would probably be dealing with a ton of eighth graders and I got horrible flashbacks of those little bastards we ran into at Colorado Mills. The-too-cool-for-school-punks who acted like they wanted to pick a fight with us in the line at Popeye’s. It makes me shutter to think that I was like that, but I know I kinda was. Bleh.
Anyway, Firestone isn’t that big, and we’re being invited so it might just be a bit of fun.
Hi, Laura! I never thought I’d see you on this board!
Crappy pay. Only girls work there, so the drama is like sky high. And really really spoiled bratty kids and housewives. To put it this way, the girl that worked there for five years didn’t even get to 9.50/hour. Plus the internship deserves all my patience and time lol.
BUT YEAHH GODD ILL DO IT. Unless they’re in middle school like Richie said (I know I didn’t see me here either!!!). That really does bring horrible flash backs!!!
Well, it looks like I will probably be at a wedding on the western slope on the date of the AWD Pirates thing, so axe that from the list.
And as for the middle school bit, I am going to agree with Laura, Lea, and Richie. I’ve done gigs like that and it didn’t go over well. Maybe if we were wearing Halo armor instead of Ghostbusters stuff…
Sooooo, with all that in mind, it’s just going to be more waiting to hear when stuff is going on. I’d love to go to a corn maze in costume, hit some haunted houses, Elitch’s, Boo at the Zoo, that stuff. Just need to find out when.
Also, I feel that this is the year where we should make good on the GB hotel prank videos.
Anyway, a corn maze trip would seriously kick ass. I’d worry vaguely about destroying someones eye with an ion arm, but other wise it’d be nothing but kicks.
Haunted houses? Always fun.
Elitch’s? It would be a crime against good humor not to do this one…
Boo at the Zoo. Never been. sounds like fun!
GB Hotel videos? Well if the time has come, who am I to stand in the way!
edit: Before I forget we should start setting up a timeline/deadline for when we wanna have the matching suits and jazz together. I think I’ll be in a good money position for it all right after NDK, for what it’s worth.
Patches: the no-ghost from Brazil sounds good to me, and for nametags I think we should get them done at the mom-and-pop shop on old south pearl st. where I got the girls tags done…
Suits: I’m not too picky - just nothing too expensive. We can get them online if you guys want, I like the notion of getting them at the army surplus - mostly for the instant gratification.
