Each year on the 4th of July weekend, CONvergence (one of the largest Sci-Fi/Fantasy fan conventions in the midwest) happens in Bloomington, MN. For four days, the entire Double Tree hotel is taken over by fans, cosplayers, and celebrity guests of honor for a huge convention filled with events, music performances, panels, film festivals and screenings, comic/sci-fi/fantasy guests, vendors, and more…but one of the biggest aspects are the themed party rooms. Prop builders, decorators, and event coordinators transform 2 floors of hotel cabana rooms into geek themed party rooms. You’ll see everything from the starship enterprise to the Mos Eisley Cantina…
Last year, the Twin Cities Ghostbusters hosted the GHOSTBUSTIN’ 911 party room, and it went over pretty well…
This year…WE’RE BACK!!! We’re adding on to our room and going bigger! We’re even planning to have a few kid friendly games and drink options. Join us in room 109 this July 4, 5, 6, & 7!
This year’s theme for the convention is British Invasion, in honor of the 50th anniversary of Dr. Who. We’ve been creating some Ghostbusters/British pop culture mash up posters for the occasion…
