cool parts.....

Everyone who enjoys building props should check this website out!!!

They’ve got some amazingly cool parts at pretty reasonable prices. I was looking around today and just messing around decided to type in “Proton Pack” in the search field… I GOT A HIT!

Pretty crazy but it led me to this page.

Look at the crank knob in the top left!

Now I know it says that it’s the baby brother of the one used from the movie but any website that will list it’s components as being used on a proton pack is a GOOD website in my book!

In fact they have a ton of raytheon knobs… didn’t they also use some of those on the ghost traps? And a ton of Dale resistors I just haven’t been able to find the right model numbers (because I don’t know them), and I wasn’t able to find linrose lights but there were a couple pilot lights… they all ran off 120ac but I guess you could hack into them and just use the plastic caps.

Anyway, I think it would be cool if you find a part useful to ghostbusting on that site… just list the link here.

Yeh but they’re onto us, $65 for a crank knob for your Ghostbusters proton pack  Buy yourself a resin one for far less.

That is the same site reference on this website in regards to found parts…

Honestly that is the going rate for these things new, with or without the GB knowledge… I have seen them in multiple electronics catalogs and never under the $70ish price new… It’s that damn military (MIL-K-3926) specification that drives the price of this specific knob so high…

I agree that for most people a resin copy is plenty good…

That may be a little bit of a let down, but I just put it here mainly so everyone else could check it out. I’ve always had a little mad scientist streak myself and LOVE it when I find surplus places like this! Many goodies to ogle!
