Correct Wire Set Up

I’ve looked at a bunch of different packs on here, and can’t seem to find the correct way for the HGA wire. I’ve seen the Elbow wire go over the crank gen split loom and the Clippard split loom go on the side. Then I’ve seen both go over the Crank Gen Split Loom. Then I’ve seen both go under it… Pretty much every variety.

What’s the correct setup?

Best answer is:

Pick a pack in the movie that you like and copy that. :whatever:

Well, I’d rather have both wires go under the Split Loom, I don’t care for the giant bump it makes. But it looks like in GB1 both the 3/4’’ split loom and red wire go over the crank gen loom.

Then again, I’ve seen people with Gb1 Packs have it go under it, lol.

I boggled with this question too but I ended up deciding to do the OMNI setup.

Even Ray running down the hotel hallway has the same setup with the “over the crank loom” look but there is a slight difference. I think the OMNI has more 5/32" red tube length so it hangs more under the 1/4" loom.

Yeah I checked out several parts in the movie and from what I’ve seen both of them run over the top of the loom coming out of the crank loom. I couldn’t find any shots that the HGA loom goes around or under it. Doesn’t like as clean as it could, but at least its screen-accurate.

It seems that most people do the HGA loom under the crank loom look. I’ve only seen the production picture with that look. It looks more organize when everything is not clutter together but I’m diggin’ the over the crank loom look now. Clutter gives it that “put together” appeal. Too much attention to organization takes away the realistic appearance of the prop. Most of us know the real props weren’t build for a pretty contest. In the end its just a movie prop.

This makes me think of how the movie tries to set you up to believe the proton pack and even the ecto-1 were built by these scientists or real people non of the less. It shows ray working on the ecto so it sets you up he knows something bout cars so you assume he did all or most of the design of the ecto. Egon is working on the thrower at the dinner table eating Chinese food lol, so I suppose it works to the movies advantage cuz if it looks like ■■■■, it’s ok cuz they were make by hand by these characters and not manufactured in some factory.

Yeah, I definitely agree. I’ve seen it go under the crank loom but only in the second movie, unless by some chance I missed a scene where it does. It sort of switches back and forth in the second movie.

Any how, I got mine attached so I’ll try and get some pictures online in the next few hours. The thick tubing under the HGA split loom is pretty rigid, and wanted to stay bending up. I just cut it shorter to try and make it flatter. It looks good now, and in the movie its pretty tight across to the Filler’s Clippard anyway. It pretty much touches the “Loom Tube.” Looks just like the screen-cap you posted.

Here’s my wire setup. More pics on my page!

I’m using this as my reference.
