Hi I thought I should introduce myself as I am new to GB cos play, but I am a huge Sci-Fi and Star Wars fan and have always loved Ghostbuster from the first time I saw it in the theater as a kid. I just picked up a pack that was build by slimer7, I hear he makes excellent gear. I should have the pack this week and am very excited to get it. The rest of the uniform will have to wait till after Christmas as the packs aren’t cheap.
I thought while I was here I would share with you some of my projects, props and costumes. I am currently a member of the Rebel Legion a charity costume group and am currently working on a costume to join the 501st.
I am currently working on my Stormtrooper for 501st acceptance. I just finished the helmet with a fully integrated sound system using mini speakers fitted into the aerators. The armor it ruff trimmed and my next project.
I built this this year for Halloween, it is light inside at night with a solar spot light that makes the windows glow.
here is my build photos on Facebook.
And finally this is the pack I am getting, I should have it in hand with in a week or so. Will look awesome hanging on the wall by the big screen TV and DVD book case opposite my lightsabers.
Thanks guys, next year I will start putting the uniform and gear together. The biggest expense is the pack so now I can piece the rest together over time
I finally got my pack displayed on the wall. I found a double hook rated up to 50 pounds and screwed it right in to a stud. Now I can lift my pack on and off really easy and it looks cool too. of course my girlfriend thinks its dumb… blah lol
OK started my costume build. I have my belt and most of the accessories on it together, including trap holder, PKE holster, Gizmo holder and radio holster. I have one of Spongeface’s interactive radios, a Matty trap and PKE meter. I cut down and dyed the elbow pads yesterday, I may add a little black in the creases. I have the no ghost patch and my name patch. The flight suit will be here tomorrow and the leg hose and hose leg holder is on its way also. I am scratch building the gizmo I have almost finished prefabbing the Nixie tube bracket and Nixie tubes. I will be printing out the circuit board and chips and will use ABS or plexi for those. I have to spray the nixie holder black but its looking pretty good so far. Here are some pics from my phone of some of the things so far.
OK making progress on my Gizmo when I can. I am hoping to be able to glue on the white and black chips today, I can then work on adding the resistors and transistors. I have to then put the duaghter board together and connect them with the coiled wire. I think I will clear coat everything when I am done to seal everything up.
OK I think I am finished. I do have to add a clip to the back of the daughter board, and clear coat the whole thing. I also got to add the coiled wire. I think it turned out pretty good.
