Custom Name Tags

I’m just starting all my research into what to get for my uniform. Found a good looking arm patch from Intergalactic, but now I’m looking for a custom name tag. A search on ebay turned up this item, which looks decent enough. Has anyone here ordered a custom patch from them? Or is there a better place to get them from?

My last name is Smith, so it should be easy enough.

I own a Katarra nametag, and I’m pretty pleased with it. The letters are a bit thick, but the shape of the letters looks good and they’re well made, not to mention that she’s the most reliable as far as shipping and expedience. I’d fully recommend her.

One thing though, and I hate to harp, is that live auctions are generally discouraged from being posted on the board. It’s not such a problem with an unlimited stock item like that, but it’s frowned upon for items with more limited availability, to avoid starting bidding wars amongst board members. Now that you’ve had your lecture, welcome aboard!

Oh, right. I didn’t think about that. Whoops.

But thanks.

Sure thing. Like I said, you’re not really in the wrong here, but since you’re new I thought it worth pointing out for future reference.

I have one too after trying to get one made locally that came out poorly.

The patch looks amazing and I got it FAST…sent an email with the name as I wanted it and it was shipped next day. I got it like 2 days later.

Highly recommended.

I also have one from her, pretty much does what it says on the tin!

Has she fixed her font yet? When I was testing different Patch makers, and purchased one of hers the letters were too smooth. If you’ll notice on the S in Stantz it’s supposed to have sharp corners. Her’s were smooth. If you’re looking for reliability and speed, Katarra can’t be beat. But if you want it to LOOK authentic, (Don’t jump on me for this guys) you should go with a fella on eBay called Captain America, aka J Kerezman.

Warnings of Captain America

-Go through eBay, he works better with accountability. Plus, you can rest assured that you’ll get your stuff.

-Tell him upfront that you have a specific deadline. He’ll treat you right if you treat him right.

-Be willing to wait for a little bit. He seems to be pretty busy lately with all the 25 anniversary hype.

-Many people have had bad experiences with him, I HAVE NOT. He has always been very good to me, and he is the best of the best of the best, sir! (With honors, ) I’ve ordered large orders and small orders from him and have always received good service and quick responses. One time he misspelled a patch, I let him know and had a replacement within a week.

Let me say it again, I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIND ANYONE ELSE WHO CAN MAKE PATCHES AS AUTHENTIC AS CAPTAIN AMERICA. EVERYONE ELSE HAS TEXT PROBLEMS, SIZE ISSUES OR EXTRA SPACE ON THE PATCH THAT IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE THERE. I really believe that Captain America is the only way to go.

I’d rather have slight inaccuracies in a patch (never but his uniforms they aren’t even accurate) then buy from that thief. Buying from him just encourages more similar behavior in my opinion.

I’d also like to point out that it seems like no matter what is going on he is always “so busy” to the point of either taking way to long with an order to simply never getting it. Don’t buy into the excuses

Seriously just buy your custom patch from Katarra get it quick and look fancy

Here are mine from J. Kerezman…

Like slimeguy, I had no problem. Patches were here within a week. A little pricey, but good stuff. Worth noting that I ordered these about two weeks ago, so right now he appears to be on a “up swing” :P. Looking over the complaints from him, I tend to notice they go in cycles. People are furious, people are happy ,furious, happy… just catch him on a Happy cycle?

She has indeed. Look through her eBay store at the Stantz tag and you can see the squared corners and the serif on the ‘Z.’

In light of that, I couldn’t in good conscience recommend ANYONE to buy from captainamerica/Joe Kerezman. Good experiences from 2 board members does not make up for a continuing 10 years of shady behavior.

Given that buying from Joe is an incredible risk and his past history of incredibly poor customer service, I, like most other long-time members, can NOT recommend him in ANY way, shape, or form.

Katarra produces a very good product at a very good price, and has an excellent history of speedy deliveries and excellent customer service. She has my full endorsement.

In fact, looking at the screen used nametag:

Her letter thickness is about right as well. In that case, I see absolutely no reason to even consider Joe.

To be fair, had I been a GBFans.com member at the time I started this project, I would have purchased my items from Katarra. While I was quite happy with the outcome from J. Kerezman, he’s left a bad taste in the mouth of the community it seems. As a community-minded individual, that does not quite sit right with me. Not that I’m against giving folks a ‘second chance’, but it seems that folks like Katarra are well liked in the Community. Even if her product was, at one time, not ‘accurate’ in the font (Which appears now to be fixed), I’d rather support her monetarily than someone who has apparently not done well by a sizable percentage of the community.

Just the 2cents of a new member :P.

Krezman has been given more chances than anyone else, and he continually messes with people. No one can make anyone buy from anyone else here, but if you do go with Krezman and get burned don’t expect sympathy.

I got mine from Katarra, too. It’s not like, squared font; but I like how it looks. The Iron-On back is a nice addition, too.

Then again my patch is at least 4 years old.

Just gonna jump in on the Katarra bandwagon,my name patch is from her and as is my No Ghost logo, she’s my main patch supplier for my GB uniforms,I wouldn’t use anyone else.

as Jai said two good accounts (and yes I know there are more then that even) don’t make up for the several thousand dollars upon dollars Joe has taken from people. For inaccurate, cheap products on top of that…

His patches look nice yes, but when you decide to order for the second time or first time and are out between 50 to 300 bucks…we have warned everyone more then enough.

Look at that old DS!

the picture is old too. >_>

Another thumbs-up for Katarra8, the patch I got from her is much better quality than my first one (which had to have liberal amounts of fray-check applied even before sewing it on). Yes, the letters on the custom tags aren’t completely squared, but who would really notice that?
