Here is a little custom I was working on, Hit a bit of a stand still right now.
I thought the ■■■■■■■■■■■■ pack was pretty neat, but I really wanted a custom version. I thought, its getting too small to be a proton pack with a Particle Accelerator. So I went down the Extreme Proton Pack lane and added a Proton Canister to the design.
It will eventually have a Power Cell light kit, and I will add a few random lights here or there.
I will work on this again soon and will get some final shots of the unit.
Enjoy the pics, and feel free to ask some questions.
This is great. It is original yet uses familiar, instantly recognizable items from the packs. I would know right away what you were going for even without explanation. Very good job.
This is pretty awesome man. What gave you the idea to use those particular pieces? They are all very familiar to anyone with a pack, which makes it noticeable, but I’m more curious if you thought out any of the “science” behind the concept?
I wanted to use parts that I didn’t have to change physically to be part of the pack. Sure the booster might be a tad shorter then a full size pack, but apart from that… It’s a simple design and these parts were easy to reuse. A Power cell is iconic to the fans with the running blue lights. I might even place a Booster frame on there one day.
I will try and find the orginal drawings I designed, it was quite different back then, A lot of my custom works come from the actual build process. You get to a cross road where what you designed and what you are able to build collide. You make choices on the run. The thrower had no design at all. I made that as I went.
Well, I was thinking, Any piece of Ghostbusting equipment needs a power cell. And I have always thought the Booster does exactly that to some capacity, Boost. And the clippards I guess are there for minor on the run adjustments. Sooo…
The Proton Canisters are self depleting, they will push their way into the main chamber of the Pack. The Booster then boosts the protons (via the red and blue tubes ?) which sends the protons deeper into the units guts. The Power Cell powers the booster, Clippards regulate the whole shebang.
If anyone wants to put more effort into that then go right ahead.. haha.
This sort of came from a conversation I was having with mate on facebook. I’m a shameless admirer of a Tactical Response Ghostbusting team. So my thought was, these guys are not going to use regular proton packs. And this idea was born.
Looks great. To be frank I never even liked the ■■■■■■■■■■■■ pack, but that thing really sold me to the concept. It’s instantly recognizable as ghostbusting equipment, and it looks really good. As a matter of fact it l ooks much, much better than the original drawing. I love it!
Oh my gosh, this looks super cool! I love how it combines elements from the movie packs and the packs from EGB! The shape of the main body is really interesting. It reminds me a little of the shape of the gun body on the movie pack.
Well done! I love seeing unique concepts for packs come to life while still retaining some of the identifiable parts of the originals. Takes me back to the millenium pack I made once. Nice work! This is what prop building is about
I like it! I like it better than the one seen in the comic, which, imo looks like a pizza pan strapped to your arm, and just looks absurd. This one looks cooler, and makes more sense. Great job!
