Many of you may remember the Dye Fail of my Pair of Elbow Pads (Not Century Judo Knee Pads). For those of you who Haven’t seen it here’s what they looked like:

Rather than throwing them away I though to myself “There’s got to be some way to make these look better.” First I looked up mr0072003’s Tutorial on Elbow pad Dyeing. Then I did this:
I removed the ridged Foam padding and replaced it with cotton, I then drew a pattern similar to the Judo Knee Pads and stitched it in with strong thread. Though it doesn’t look exact nor accurate I don’t think the casual fan will notice. Still had to deal with the Failed Dye attempt. Went to Wal Mart and found some Fabric Spray paint in the craft section. Since they only had Black and White I decided to go all Black. I think there’s a scene in GB1 where Vankman had Black Elbow Pads. This is what they look like after the first coat. I think They will need at least another two or three coats to finish.
For anyone who is wondering the Fabric Paint I bought is Nontoxic and takes 4 hours to dry and 72 hours to completely cure. Oh and there’s one more thing if anyone is going to try this it’s better to do this in a garage or somewhere where you don’t need to worry about getting the paint on the wall or floor as the paint is permanent.
