Dalbyspook's Kenner Ecto Repaint/Custom

Thanks once again to CaptCyan for the parts and inspiration, I decided that my old Kenner Ecto needed some modernisation/TLC. I’ll spare you the build photos as the Capt has covered all that ably in his ‘This Old Ecto’ thread, so here’s the obligatory before and after shots!

i love the weathering! Good job!

Hey DS!

Beautiful job on the Ecto! :crunch:

Once you got rollin’, how long did it take you to complete? And how do you have the Pack Rack hooked up?

Very nice! Love the pack-rack!

Nice work! I have an old Kenner Ecto as well that I need to get around to restoring…

Cheers everyone!

Capt - after my ‘false start’ I’d say no more than five days or so, and that’s only because of allowing time for paint to properly dry and cure and so on. It’s pretty quick once you get going, and if you’ve got a Ecto that’s in good condition and doesn’t need painting (mine was badly yellowed) that’ll save you even more time.

The pack rack is just sat in there at the moment, no sliding system incorporated…yet! They’re just resting on the lip of the back door between the second and third packs. To be honest as it’s just for display rather than play I may well just leave it like that.

Also, what the pictures don’t show is that my bonnet and chassis are painted in the exact same way as Capt’s custom - black with silver detailing and weathering on the undercarriage. Looks great!

Very nice job.

I like it! You did an amazing repaint and revision of our beloved Ecto! If only we had toys like this as children…
