Hi - I’ve finally found the time in my hectic life to knuckle down and start my GB outfit, I’ve started with the Eco-Goggles, using Coz_UKs’ plans. I’m using 4mm MDF and will be using turned aluminium (yeah - I’m from the UK  ) for the lenses and greebles if it doesn’t end up being too heavy.
Looks great so far! You’ll want to primer the heck out of that MDF before painting. Coz’s plans are excellent. It shows in your progress…keep up the good work!
Sweet goggles man! they look very much like mine did at that point. Do not worry about the weight, I used 8mm MDF, and the goggles are quite light. Coz’s plans are only too good to be true, I expect to see a lot of scratch built frames from now on. And do prime your goggles before final paints, so you’ll see where you need more sanding. As for my stuff, just hit the link on my signature.
I think I’ve missed photographing a few stages, but here they are painted, just need to machine the silver bits (lenses and dials etc) and finish the padded face plate.
the faceplate’s made from MDF Coz - primed to the hilt!!
As for making a set Slimershomie, lets see how these turn out first
I’ve been totally snowed under the last few months with work and personal issues, but things are back on track now and it’s full steam ahead on my gear
all I’ve done since last time is I’ve turned some lenses out of wood on the lathe, (couldn’t get on the metal lathe - it’s not very well - one of the students messed up the chuck on it)
Now I just need to vac-form them, see if look ok (if they will pull ok – not sure about the steep sides on them. If they won’t vac form I may just hollow them out and attach them as they are (after paining them first of course)
