DELETED LEVEL IN GHOSTBUSTERS VIDEO GAME??

Wow ! I’m gonna check it out tomorrow. I really wish they kept that in becuase I remember that in the Pyhsics demo with the crowd and stuff, Mark Randel mentioned that crowds are really important to the game and the fact that they would have a part of the game, involving the Thanksgiving parade. I wish they kept it though. By the way, what do you mean by misc. ?

I doubt the DS parade scene would have matched up to the next gen version. Even the Wii version has vastly different versions of the same levels.

I noticed that a lot of cool stuff was cut from the game that we were told would be in it or that we saw concept for. The original river of slime in the wii version for example, parade level, the fact that the wii would have all the same stuff as the other versions and not be stripped down, multiplayer on the wii. I wonder if atari had to take these things out for cost reasons. Frankly I’d rather they spent the extra months trying to fit in the stuff that was missing instead of “polishing”. A lot of what i was looking forward too got cut or changed.

Had I not known what was suppose to be in there I’d have no real complaints, but knowing what we were suppose to get really causes disappointment.

apparently, the ‘parade level’ was suppose to be in the multiplayer levels on the next gen consoles..

but when it was removed, the achievements/trophies didnt get updated. so most level specific awards are glitched.

on the payroll, gozer’s most wanted, etc

Its a shame they removed the Parade level, It was one i was really looking forward to, because also i remember during one of the Tech Demos they showed the Crowd AI in action and specifically said it was for the parade level.

Ghostbusters 1 takes place during October.

I don’t remember this being part of the story. Where do you get this from? Winston says he’s been with the company for a few weeks in the Mayors office so considering that the guys had to have had at least a few weeks to set things up, I’d say the movie takes place over the span of more than one month.

Does everyone remember the first trailer Atari released for the game? It showed Ray, Egon and Peter dancing down the street.

I wonder if that was going to be part of the parade level. I don’t remember seeing it when I played through the game…

Look at the dates on the periodicals during the montage. On a separate note I noticed the deleted parade level and the missing Ecto -1 chase right away too. Bummer

Also, when the guys are going to meet with the Mayor, there is a banner outside with a date on it… so we know it’s a little before that at least. (And yes, I know that isn’t written into the script, and it was most likely a REAL event and that’s just when they ended up shooting it. But if they didn’t want us to think of the movie around that date they should have been more cautious of their camera angles! )

However, Wiggy is right; It’s not part of the story.

I was wondering the exact same thing. I really wanted to know the context of that shot.

I believe it was a rendering done just for fun.

I don’t think so. None of the other shots were done just or fun. It’s just yet another thing dropped from the game to make it slightly less enjoyable.

Ghostbusters is a great game in spite of Atari’s involvement.

it was done just for fun.
