Ok, here’s what I’ve assembled so far:

Although, I’d like to know if anyone can point me in a direction to get something that looks like the BA-5567/U Battery Cap?

Wow, very interesting and useful. Did ya use the guide? If it is so, I’ll save your pics to help me with my goggles!!
Looks good! I used the same base goggles for mine. I would advise against trying to paint the green vinyl, i prepped and painted mine olive drab green and they stayed tacky!! I think there is something in the vinyl that seeps out.
I have seen small hydaulic hose caps that look like the battery cap you seek. Try hydraulics supply stores for something close.
Thanks for the tip…
Although I am using Paranorman’s How-To… I will be making a few extra mods… you can already see that I’ve added Bondo on top of my Goop.
They look great! Very nice work
Some joker has his Ecto-Goggles on eBay… and making a freakin’ killing for them… and they’re not… particularly good. Would anyone be interested in mine if I listed them?

Of course, you’ll all understand that the green luminance was added in Photoshop
damn those look sweet!
Work what work they look great keep on keep on.
Later
Mods, please delete this post.
Nice work
What sort of primer did you use?
just wondering, i believe i have the same goggles as you, but i want to know, how’d you get the detail on the sides of the goggles? what did you use to make the bottom part of the side of the goggles stick out?

I used Paranorman’s tutorial to make mine: http://www.gbprops.com/ectogoggles/norm/
What details are you referring to exactly..? What sticks out on the side are pieces of wood! They are meant to simulat battery compartments on the actual NVGs.
Excellent work man! I have a few questions for you…
1.) Like Maggio said, what did you use (other than wood) for the mock battery compartments, so the wood pieces and frame all seem like one smooth piece? Some kind of filler?
2.) What’s all the stuff between the two lenses? It looks like a red LED, and something else. Is the LED functional? And if so, how’d you hook it up?
3.) How’d you achieve the green light effect in that last pic? More LEDs, or just photoshop, or what?? Please do tell, I wish to learn your secrets master!
According to the captions on his album, the “blending” effect of making the blocks & goggles look like one piece was done with multiple coats of bondo.
Thanks, I’m very proud of my work, as this is the first time I make this kind of prop… the goggles are amongsy, IMHO, the best I’ve seen out there. They’re not hard to accomplish, with a little more effort than the average ghosthead will put in.
I used Bondo. It was hard to work with as Bondo doesn’t stick very well to the rubber of the welder’s goggles.
It’s an LED with a washer, nothing more. It can be functional, but in theory, this is supposed to be an IR LED, therefore not visible to the human eye.

It’s Photoshop! True green 50% opacity… although I am looking to stick some 3M reflective tape in there to make this effect with camera flash.
Very friggin nice man..
The crowning touch… I’ve just bought the real AN/PVS-5 headstrap assembly… making my Ecto Goggles look that much even better. Last step, adhesive foam strip along the inner edges.

I’m having major issues with my paint peeling off the goggles… obviously the material isn’t porous enough. Anyone have any tips for a work-around?
