Well, after a year of losing my Ecto-V.

I was able to find a decent car, low mileage and a great price to be made into the Ecto-V2. I also was able to buy a Whelen Edge 9000 Strobe lightbar at a really really cheap price with green lenses.

So, here is pics of the of the new Ecto-V2 and lightbar being fitted. I have to get the car repainted because of minor rust spots and will have the lightbar professionally installed.

Good to hear you’re getting back on your feet. DKM. However, ectos with GIGANTIC lightbars hanging off the front of the roof is something I dont want to see become a trend.

Hell, I feel the 48" bars for my car look too big. For smaller roofs like on the taurus, Outback and Freestyle I highly recommend a 36-incher.

You know, I have of those layin’ around…

I understand, about the size thing. The lightbar will be mounted with a more correct way with the pro install. I placed it on the roof just to get an idea. Besides, I got a REALLY good deal on that light bar.

How much do you want for your 36"?

I actually have two of them, still. With amber and blue lens sets. I’d let them go for maybe… 250 for both? Plus shipping? Let me know if that’s up your alley…

How were able to fit the clearance of the box inside the roof rack?

What type of wood did you use?

I have been racking my brains on how big the box will be and what to mount in it.

Minor update.

Got the Caution stripes on the car.

Did the tune up, changed spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter.

Still need oil change.

Lightbar install set for Tuesday. Planning to get No Ghost logos on Monday or Wednesday.

Going to Can’t stop the Serenity Screening on Thursday and a Halloween party on Saturday.

Going to be a busy week.

I’ll get pics up after the lightbar and No Ghost logos are applied.

I feel you went way too big with the lettering. The most prominent thing on your car should be no-ghost logo and everything else should be subtle.

I thank you for your input Boomer. You were always an inspiration to me. The letters came out that way due to my error and with limited funds, I got what I got.

I do enjoy the lettering after it’s been on the car and I still got noticed by the no ghost logos no matter what. :stuck_out_tongue:

Are those speaker vents on the top? Won’t you get water inside from those?

The speaker vents are all weather marine speakers. But my backup plan is having those little saran wrap toppers (the ones with elastic bands) as a way to cover the vents for major things like snow.

The cool thing with the speakers, is that the container does become one very large speaker box and helps with projecting the music.

I have the speakers tied into a an amp that is turned on by a separate switch, so I can play music inside the car and have the outside speakers turned off. So far the setup works and everything is modular for cleaning and upgrades.

We mounted our speakers on the side of our top box, so we wouldn;t have to worry about weather concerns.

The speakers we used are home bose roomate speakers, and we use a power inverter in our car to operate them. The sound input is simply my cellphone, with a playlist setup.

Your setup is very cool and I like how simple it is.

That’s the great thing about building, someone might have a better setup then you come up with. :slight_smile:

I’ve had the speakers for about 15 years now… and we already had the power inverter, since we use it while camping, so using it all was a no brainer for us.

(Plus it’ll work out well adding christmas lights for our upcoming christmas parade!)
