Elbow pads stretching question

Hey everyone. I’ve got a really stupid question, but I’ve tried everything I can think of. I have a pair of large knee pads for my uniform dyed ( and also used certain types of clothing paints to get the color I wanted ), but everytime I wear them, they are so tight around my arms, that after a few hours, it starts to cut off the circulation in them.

I’ve tried putting items inside the armband parts for weeks at a time to stretch them to their limits. I’ve tried soaking them, hand stretching, nothing seems to work. Is there a proper way to permanently stretch out the elastic material in these so they are a bit more comfortable? Thanks for any advice.

I heard someone say that they left them over full 2 liter bottles for a couple days. DOn’t now if you tried that or if it would work, though.

Have you cut the elastic down on the pads to make them look like they did in the movie?

I did mine and it made all the difference. If you haven’t done it do it! It will give you more room!

I agree with the trimming the elastic.

That would really help if you have’nt already done it.

Failing that I heard someone say they cut the elastic in the middle and sew in another piece of elastic to make them bigger?

Awesome guys! Thanks for the suggestions, I will give them a try this weekend.

Umm, I forgot to ask, where exactly do you cut the elastic on the elbow pads to create more room?

I stretched them over pop bottles.

Worked great.

Check out the Where to buy elbow pads thread, that will answer all you questions!

Thank you, sometimes I wonder if it’s worth the trouble getting those threads stickied or even to bother making them.

In CCSpidey81’s defense, since he only need to modifed elbow pads he already purchased, I wouldn’t see why he would check a thread titled where to buy them. The title of the thread could be changed to make sure people know there is more info in the topic than what is stated.
