This guy has just started up this business again. I’d advise steer well clear as from my own experience he is a con artist. Paid for a Proton Pack and never received it.
If you didn’t get your money back I would suggest at least contacting him about it now he’s back up and running.
Listen I need help please, I just want to buy a full kit with exactly everything I need to install movie sound effects into my proton pack. This is my very first build. I need help, don’t know where to post and don’t want to buy each price separately cause I don’t even know what to buy, so I’d like to buy something that’s all grouped together and all I have to do is install it. Will someone please help me? I’m making this for my son.
Do you already have a pack, and you’re just looking for electronics to install? is it a full sized pack?
It’s from BenofKent. None of the holes are drilled, no cuts made, I do have electronics and a motherboard, but I’m unsure how to attach any of this stuff. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have ordered from them recently without any issues for my first pack build and can’t really fault the service I got or the items I received
i ordered some stuff a few years back, his ribbon cable and motherboard.
the order was delayed multiple times and the motherboard was awful, cut with a angle grinder in a rush with cuts and slashes all over it, but then again it was cheap. Cable was decent but very stiff. I would stay clear tbh.
Just wanted to add that I’ve ordered a few things from Epic-Props lately (ribbon cable, death whistle) and all arrived fairly quickly. I’ve just ordered a resin-cast Radiacmeter within the last few days but this is not expected to be received for a few weeks as it’s made-to-order.
Granted those are only small items certainly not to the same scale as a proton pack shell but so far there’s no indication that it’s a swizz. From reading the Facebook page there looked to be some delays earlier in the year due to someone in the workshop getting covid but things seem to be working fine now.
Hi All,
I wanted to bring this post back to address the current situation regarding Epic Props and what happened in the past.
Firstly, as you can probably tell, I’m not Epic Props. The guy behind Epic Props is Russ who originally started building props and parts on his own. Clearly when you take on multiple orders as well as have other employment, sometimes it’s difficult to keep on top of things which he has demonstrated resulting in a few unhappy customers.
Then after a loss in family and an unfortunate Covid situation which involved a bad reaction to the vaccine resulting in a black out whilst driving that he nearly died from, he let everything go to hell.
However, he is back on track as a business with a little help from myself. I’m the one you speak to via email, fb messenger etc. This is so he can deal with everything in the workshop and you get a contact that will come back to you as soon as I am able to do so, which is a lot quicker than he ever did.
But because of the bad customer service he provided, this had a knock on effect on his reputation. We have managed to build it back up but there are still some that do not trust him.
I would like to rebuild that trust and in doing so, I need a little help.
I am still trying to identify people that he did not provide the goods to or have not received a refund. If there is anyone in the forum that is still waiting after all this time, please can you get in touch by emailing me at ** [email protected]**. Alternatively, you can message the Epic Props Facebook page.
I know there is still some people waiting from what I can see in previous FB and Instagram messages but most of those have blocked him and therefore I am unable to reply to get to a solution.
Please note though that Epic Props is currently on hiatus due to a location change for the workshop. This was planned to be opened in January 2025 but after a bunch of delays including the building needing a new roof, we are still on a hiatus until everything is finished. Hopefully we will back to normal soon.
I’m glad to hear Russ is doing ok now.
I’ve bought a few things from Epic Props over the last few years and I’ve never had any bad experiences.
Looking forward to buying from you guys when you’re up and running and running again.
Thank you.
We are hoping to be back up around the middle to end of May.
He’s taking a vacation to New York first which I’ve told him that if he doesn’t show me a photo of himself outside a certain firehouse, I will be having strong words lol
Has anyone had hands on with the new fiberglass UNA shells yet? I’ve seen that the powercell ribs and cyclo lid are seperate from the shell, interested in attachment options for them, as well as general structure and quality.
