Last day of Cyphan, great to meet some otherGhostbusters fans, and Ernie has been very friendly all weekend.
There’s only a few hours left, so I encourage you to stop by my table and check out my comic that has many Ghostbusters and otherSci-fi and movie references.
ALAN, what was the range of questions asked . . How long was the Q&A.
Did anyone beat him to death with the dredded Gb 3 questions, makes me shutter.
Did he hook you up with autographs, and did you have him sign your pack?
Dont me to hit you with 20 questions but I am planning to hit the VIP party this year at spooky empire . Here in orlando this halloween and have heard nothing but great things about Ernie . Just curious . IM freakin stoked to have my pack autographed.
Q&A was an hour long. There were surprisingly few questions, as Ernie responded to each one with a lengthy – and very interesting, often humerous, and sometimes unexpectedly inspirational – chain-of-thought response.
I think there were only two GBIII questions: one about his knowledge about Development Hell (and he basically confirmed what everyone has already heard) and whether or not any of the script drafts has reached his desk (no).
Most of the questions were about his career. Particularly enlightening were his stories about auditioning for Ghostbusters, as well as for a few other roles (including those he did not get, including RGB). He also had interesting things to say about voice-over work and being a father and role model.
I can only confirm the “great things” you have heard about Ernie Hudson. I have met many notable people in my life (including big name celebrities as well as Nobel Laureates), and I must rank Ernie among the most well-balanced and incredibly pleasant of them. He is truly a Great Guy.
Yeah, this was probably one of the best Q&As I’ve ever sat in. Every answer was genuine and he opened up about his life to us, especially about his previous job and the people who he considers to be heroes.
Ernie was very approachable and easy to talk to. I’ve met him before at bigger cons, but it always seemed rushed. The smaller nature of the con was so much more relaxing and inviting.
I really enjoyed myself at this con, even though I was only able to be there for a few hours. I really want to give kudos to the organizers! Fantastic job guys! I’m really looking forward to next year!
Yep! He signed Lucille. It was funny because you could tell he was like “Great… Another Proton Pack.” and then I said “I would like you to sign Lucille here if you don’t mind…” he perked up at the name and asked me about the pack and why I named it and such.
And (since I had paid of course..) he took a picture with me.
I got to say, he is a great guy and real seems to like meeting and chatting with fans.
Big surprise, but I’m still recovering from that weekend. My sleep schedule is all out of whack after working late on my Proton Puncher and getting up at the crack of early to ride down there.
I’m gonna pass on WW this year. I’ve had enough convention fun to last me a looooong time. I’m also trying to slow down my spending for books for school. Yippeeeee. Hopefully we’ll have another rad gathering like this in the future. C:
Thanks for posting photos, guys. That last one is our group, the Wisconsin Ghostbusters. It was nice to see everyone again and great to meet some new 'busters. Ernie was awesome (as usual) and we presented him with a token of our appreciation.
I’m looking forward to Chicago Comic Con this weekend. Hope to see everyone there!
