My brother and I were wondering if anyone had made a cast of the Fallout 3 PiP Boy that come in the Amazon edition of the game.
If not, I have one that i could try to make a cast of if anyone is interested.
I saw an awesome build on PRF not too long ago. Was that yours?
I think it sounds more like you’re asking if anyone would want a cast of the Amazon exclusive Pipboy clock. I don’t mean to be the first naysayer, but a lot of people would classify that as recasting… might want to rethink the idea.
Now using it as reference to build one from scratch and then cast that wouldn’t be recasting, since it’d be a cast of something you made yourself. If that’s what you were referring to than by all means, go for it.

if it is the build that I’m thinking of then it’s been heavily modified so it all depends on your individual opinion of what is or isn’t recasting.
no it wasn’t me, and no i was not just going to straight recast. i know that is a huge thing not to do. I was thinking out trying not to damage the one from Amazon but to modify it to make it look a little more like the in-game one.. that and its not big enough to fit on my arm or i would need to modify it quite a bit.
let me say it again, i am in way just recasting the PIPBoy that came with the game, i am modifying it to do a few things that one that game did not do (like for one fit my arm) once i am done with the modified mold i may be offering it if there is a want for it.
Unfortunately it’s hairy territory, if I had to say whether or not what that guy on the RPF did was recasting or not… I’d have to say it was recasting, as he just made a copy of the clock with the intent to sell.
It reminds me of someone from a while back who claimed to have access to one of the early Proton Packs from the USF Spooktacular, and was seeking people’s interest in doing a run of pulls from it… as the Pack in question was supposedly a cast of one of the screen-used packs from the movie.
The best solution would be to sculpt a Pip-boy from scratch… I know it’d require more work and materials, but then it would avoid the recasting issue.
On a separate note, I’d have to check it to be sure, but from having looked through the Fallout 3 art book, I believe there is a dial for the Pip-Boy that rests on the top of the hand, and is held onto a gauntlet on the Lone Wanderer’s left hand.
I appreciate the advice, i think ill just the the clock as a reference and go on making it from scratch, less confusion and no way of being called-out out of making a recast
