Did you get the hose from the shop. I picked one up the other day. It really looks great.
Nope, I got it from Dean. I find that the one in the shop is a little too “lemon” yellow… But it’s personal taste, really. 
The one I received is ■■■■ yellow…which reminds me of the intent of these things

So what happened when you attached the trap. Did it make your belt fall down around your ankles?
Slowly but surely. 
Let’s just say that I didn’t wait long enough to see if it would happen. The trap made the whole belt slide down , and I wasn’t even walking. When I walk I have to hold the trap the whole time, and that’s without the pedal. The only solution I can think off is tighten the hell out of the belt so that it can’t go anywhere even with all the weight. But then there’s the bolts that hold the V-hook… :roll: I’ll think of something.
I’m gonna have the same problem. My trap is resin and aluminum. I duplicated the track system on the inside with aluminum and aluminum plate, which also ups the weight. Mine MIGHT weight more than yours in the end.
I’m seriously thinking of trying my hand at whipping up a foamcore “stunt” trap. This one might just become a display piece.

OK so last night I took pics of my hose because Brian asked me! Wow. That sounds even worse. :shock:
1/2" OD yellow hose from Masteryoda, 5’ in length. Ectoglow tan hose connector. No, it’s not on the suit yet. I procrastinate a lot.
And this is how it’ll look like when I… Oops. Looks like I’ll have to pad the thing. Anyone has 5/8" hose?
Thanks, man. The first set of pictures was taken in my dining room, and the lightning there is warm, hence the color in the pics. But with cold lightning, it’s perfect!
The Sentinel uniform from Gibson & Barnes is pretty much 90% accurate as is. There’s a few things you want to specify before ordering so that it’s like in the movie. The only thing you can’t get straight from G&B is the ripstop fabric, basically. Here’s a list of the stuff I asked for:
Sentinel uniform long sleeve (UB2P2)
Resolute fabric (polyester/cotton) khaki
Brass zippers with brass teeth
Side entry zippers
No FOD cover on left sleeve pocket
No Velcro on left breast
Like I said, the rest is covered in the standard Sentinel suit. Hope that helps!
Another update! I’m *still *getting stuff in the mail, so there. It’s getting really close now, I’m only missing a couple of things, mostly subtle details. Here’s the latest stuff that I got!
Finally got my hands on an accurate, vintage MT500 with the correct blue label. It even got the three knobs and everything. I know, it’s still missing the correct antenna… But it’s temporary.
Like everything vintage on my uniform, it’s used but not abused. I actually dismantled it completely to clean it, ended up stripping the electronics (I don’t even have batteries or a charger; what would I do with those, anyway? Aren’t those things illegal to use when you’re a civilian?)
As expected, it fits like a glove in the vintage holster I just got. These two have been bugging me for months now, I can finally consider those *really *found. Make me think: these things were only used in one scene. Was it worth all that effort? (Answer: yes! :P)
Another shot for the road. I love these things, can’t get any more vintage than this. This is actually one of the two MT500s that I’ve build from the spare parts of 3 radios. I had 3 passable radios, I’ve build 2 good ones. All parts are interchangeable, so it’s a breeze to swap them once you’ve stripped the electronics. By the way, I used that great tutorial that I’ve found last night:

Wow. I completely forgot about this thread, and about my empty promises. I actually rocked my entire uniform for the first time this Halloween (after I managed to finish my pack on time) and I had a few pics taken. DISCLAIMER: I know I don’t have any elbow pads, I was late and I actually forgot to put them on. EPIC FAIL. Anyway, here goes!
“We’re ready to believe you!” Yeah, I know, cliché. Rockin’ the Venkman look, because I was too lazy to stuff the suit into the boots.
“Boy, this equipment’s heavy.” Indeed it is. Had trouble walking for a little while there. All that aluminum must be adding up.
Thumbs up look weird with those glove. Nice job I did, I guess?
See what I mean? Yeah, I know I don’t have a yellow hose, either. I was told that the thing was a nuisance in public, plus I had to help out a friend by letting him “borrow” mine. Oh well.
That’s where I remembered I actually had a thrower for this thing.
LOOK OUT, TERROR DOG! That beast was a real menace, let me tell you that.

So! Small update on the uniform front: I’ve *finally *managed to complete my belt gizmo. I had the help of my good friend Steve (Spengler28) and the results are interesting (even if it’s not 100% accurate; NO I’m not buying a 808D :roll:)
So here it is. My 82D board in its Tyger Cheex holster, with the daughterboard attached.
Here’s a closeup: I used a CB mike cable, which really looks like what they used. To attach it to the main board I used a little “chip” that Steve made for me, using Amazing Goop to “weld” the red wires. The chip itself is held with two-sided tape.
And here’s the daughterboard itself, courtesy of Steve. It doesn’t look like much, but I love the craftmanship. Like on the main board, the wires are “welded” with epoxy. I finished it by screwing a belt holder in the back for belt hanging.
That’s it for now! I have a few details to finalize, then my uniform will be complete!

Okay I’m getting closer and closer to a complete uniform. Yesterday I *finally *stitched the hose connector on the uniform. Minor step for a ghosthead, major step for me.
Here you go. I used the accurate method of “just stitch each hole with about 10 feet of thread”. While it looks a little sloppy, I like it a lot.
And here’s the whole thing (with the elbows this time! No they’re not stitched on, I just display them like this :P) I think I got the placement right.
I turned my gloves inside out, so the writing would be hidden. I also ran them under the sink to get some of the matte powder off.
That is… a great idea. Done and done. I love the powder residue, looks weathered (how the hell do you weather rubber, anyway?)

I did the exact same thing with my boots. Last summer when I got them I used them to work outside in the pouring rain (I wanted to weather them a little) 3 days non-stop, soaking wet, wading through mud, and these things didn’t even got worse for wear. And my socks stayed perfectly dry! Impressive, to say the least.
