Firefox 3.0...is crap!

I’m sure a lot of us have firefox and thus have gotten the update recently. Anyone else have any problems?

Mine was constantly crashing some sites just would not load and I frankly got pretty pissed about it. Several times a day trying to visit here it would just crash once I hit enter and I’d have to reload the program and hope it goes to the web page that time.

I went back to the previous version BUT that wouldn’t even load up at all anymore…

SO I’m now on Opera! I used it and liked it before but seemed redenundent since I had firefox

I just checked (I don’t use FireFox) but I have 3.0.1 installed.. and it seems to work right.

Did you have the most up to date version?

Yeah its the most recent version. I can only imagine there is some glitch in the new version that hasn’t been noticed yet with something on my computer more then just being terrible but its annoying to even bother with. I couldn’t go to YouTube at all with it.

I think it might be your computer. My firefox update is working just fine for me.

Let me check for updates

After around 6 attempts, it wouldn’t even download.

I had that problem before it did update too!

I did one standard update and some weird error happened, then I downloaded the regular file and it was corrupted. So I waited and tried again and it updated fine. I still can’t get to youtube, just keeps crashing…so weird I’m going to try something and get back to this.

EDIT: Nope didn’t work I thought it might have something to do with this TV/Video program firefox suggested after I installed it called Miro but uninstalling that didn’t help.

Oh well Opera goes to every site perfectly without crashing.

Didn’t you have it set to automatically update?

It usually does.. My firefox has been screwy lately

Firefox 2.0.0.16 is the current July 15th update for version 2.xx

Support will end for version 2.xx in December though…

Did you resolve the issue Spooky? I was thinking of upgrading to Firefox 3 but if I am going to have problems I don’t know if I want to.

It’s an Adobe Flash problem that conflicts with Firefox. I noticed it right after I updated to v. 3.0. Nothing on YouTube would embed or play correctly. It would load a video, then not play correctly. This is what I did and it fixed the problem:

That might be the issue phantom but its not that I can’t get the videos to load but the whole browser crashes when I try to go to youtube. It did/does it for GBfans on occasion and it did it for GBnet.

It sounds like your install of Firefox is corrupted Spooky. Did you try to completely uninstall, restart your machine, download it again, and install it? Some times this will work.

I downloaded it and immediately went back to 2.

I’ve been running it on all my computers and have had no issues. Even my mom the technophobe likes it.
