It’s awesome knowing Podcast got his name tape from Ray. Honestly if they do another one I hope Podcast is a full fledged member.

Callie was firing at Melody. There’s a lot of cut Melody scenes. Explains why in the released version no one says “wtf who is that?” which I thought was strange when I first saw it.

Ah. Very awesome to have a timeframe for Melody and the donkey mystery solved.
Hmm, intriguing it was Melody Callie was shooting at. Good point, everyone else had zero context for why Phoebe was so sad or why a ghost was there helping them.
- Was there any indication of what happened to Pukey after he slimes Lars? Or was that his final scene in the script, too?
- Is the final scene outside with all the people, Peck, and GBs any different? for example there’s a cut bit of Winston and Ray surveying the damage to the firehouse.
- Seen any deleted scene involving a hospital? I was never able to figure out why they filmed outside the Community Medical Center of Elmhurst Hospital at 80th Street and 41st Avenue in Queens.
- Is Phosphor in the script or is it Bonesy?
- Mood slime Phoebe takes to the Ray’s Occult basement have any action?
The copy I have this is the last scene or mention of Pukey or Lars. He’s not in the ending walking out of HQ.

Thought so. Is Phosphor’s pretty much what Bonesy’s is in the movie or does it do more?
What page number was the Mood slime one? Also Black Slime confirmed. 
Sure but we never see that and it’s a shame they cut it. But I’m just saying I hope they do pay it off and Podcast is a full time member if we get another film in this timeline. As much as I like Carrie Coon and Paul Rudd I think it’s time to move past the family aspect and have Phoebe, Podcast and some other similarly aged team members take over.

Some of these extra quips don’t land, so I’m fine the dialogue got cut.
Very curious about the unseen Melody stuff now. It’s easy to say Sony got cold feet, without knowing the quality of those scenes… I’m not sure “spectraphilia” is an avenue we needed to go down. But, Melody is the best thing in the movie imo.
Does the Melody & Garraka reveal / street chat play out the same way in the script?

I love you guys so much I swear. So this weekend I’m going through the script again and making notes and keeping an eye for certain things as requested here when I wanted to doublecheck on something Melody related.
So I’m at the GB wiki wanting to see if I could verify a couple things when I read about Melody saying she died in the 1920’s and see the source as the script. I was wondering “wait who else has a copy?” and then saw 
I was being cited. Damn you guys work fast. 
On a more serious note does anyone else want me to keep an eye out for anything else in particular?

Interesting to see the script indicated Melody died in the 1920s. It seems the production went in a different direction when it came to filming/designing the costume, as her costume looks far more contemporary:

No biggie. As one of the other members pointed out the AI removal of the watermarks also did its own thing. I absolutely see why you were skeptical. I honestly would be as well. I don’t use AI often so I’m sometimes bad at it. Or when it removed the name Gary from the page for…no reason I can think of.

Yeah, I checked and it’s been established Melody had some alternate lines saying she’s been dead for 100 years so you backed that up with the script. I’m guessing this was during their initial meeting / chess match?

Thought of a few more things I’m curious if the script clarifies. It’s mentioned in the movie Garraka can control other spirits like we see with Phoebe so I wonder if the script has an explanation for why during the climax Garaka just lets Melody stand there with the lit match?
Or if there’s any explanation for some of the other plot holes like the whole Ecto containment unit somehow sealing the cracks back up? Or whatever happens there.
I also wonder if the Ghostbusters theme was ever meant to kick in after the “cold” open? It seems like it should, right? I wonder if they wrote that into the script. Like when we see Garraka’s eyes in the sphere and it cuts to the sewer dragon chase, that seems like the perfect spot for the theme to kick in but instead we get just regular score. It would work sooo much better with the GB theme song.
I don’t think Melody was under Garraka’s control, just under his coercion… I suppose it’s likely he could’ve puppeteered/influenced Melody like he did Phoebe, Possessor and Phosphor if he’d wanted to, but he didn’t feel it necessary because he thought he had Melody firmly in his grasp through the promise of reuniting her with her family.
I’m confident he didn’t view the flame from Melody’s matchbook as any threat or (no pun intended) a match for his apocalyptic ice powers, and he’d written Nadeem off as not being a Fire Lord.
As for the Containment Unit, I assume the suction from the vortex effectively pulled the torn edges back on themselves enough to provide enough of a physical seal, when combined with the laser-grid inside the E.C.U.
I figured it was Garraka’s power or force of will holding it open and so once he was trapped and his power nullified… ‘reality’ is restored and the ECU is as it appeared before. Yeah, it gets into weird logic land like Vigo’s head going flying in the painting and exploding, turning into the “Fettuccine”

No yeah I get Melody isn’t “under his control” but Garaka’s whole deal is the fact that he can control spirits and ghosts so when Melody has her match lit, and she clearly is like defying and working against big G, why is he cool(heh) with it? You’d think Garaka would put every ghost under his will at this point.
I don’t know about that. The one other time we see a “Ghost” do something like that was when Gozer caused the road way to split in front of Spook Central. That didn’t get put back to normal when the Goz was turned into goo.
@guyx Hmm, I not sold on that being Gozer because it had not crossed dimensions yet. Could have just been the collection of ambient P.K.E. affecting the area around the building as the amount collected was reaching its tipping point.

I think the idea is that Garraka was holding the floor and ECU open with his power so ghosts could escape. Then as he is being sucked down that force is reversed and things are pulled together even if still cracked and damaged.
It’s definitely a “and everything went right back to normal” type ending but GB1 and GB2 did that to some degree as well. RGB did it basically every episode.
