This is the first time I ever even noticed the front hood vents. They aren’t on the Johnny Lightening cars, the HW Ecto, the ornament, or even the polar lights model kit.
whatta beauty! I hope they smarten up and offer a 6" scale one that fits the figures. I dont care if its costs $100 I want one.

It will be in 2 scales, 1:18 and 1:43 (that’s O scale for you Model Rail buffs).
Their name on the original concept drawings is “T.V. Antenna” so you’re probably right about that. Of course, EVERYTHING on the roof is labeled as some sort of “t.v. antenna”. I’ve called them “binocs” since my first build. I think that “sniffer” is too passive for something that’s really cool. Fifthrider calls them “guns,” but I think they look more like a piece of detection gear than weaponry.
“Ecto Scope” is another popular name for them.

It’ll be nice if they change those front lightbar brackets to movie-accurate ones, otherwise it looks pretty rad
Honestly, I don’t understand why they don’t contact anybody here as a consultant. I’m sure any of us would do it for free…

Looking good! I’m glad Mattel went with 1:18 scale instead of 1:21 like Joyride.
I have a 1:18 Scale Superior Diecast hearse and the detail is so much better cause they can do so much more cause of the length.
If it’s to scale with the 6" line I’ll buy it in a heart beat. I don’t care if my figures (wearing proton packs) don’t fit. They will look cool next to it. So far it looks like a nice build!

Here’s how you figure the Figures scale. 
The 12" figures are known as 1:6 scale, the math is: 12" X 6 gives you a person 72" (6’) tall.
72" divided by 6" (Matty figure height) makes them 1:12 scale.
72" divided by 18 gives you 4", which would be the height of a 1:18 scale figure, which would be in scale with this HotWheels Ecto.
Well, it looks nice. Looks like their modeling it after the restored Ecto-1, considering the lightbar brackets in the front are wrong compared to the screen accurate Ecto (but that’s a rant for another day/thread). They’re also missing the Whelen Beacon on the roof rack. It wouldn’t be hard to add though. Overall, it looks nice. I’m looking forward to seeing it finished.
Yes and that would be a huge Ecto and way too expensive as a diecast. But perhaps Mattel could release a 1:12 version made of plastic later.
They are obviously basing this model on the car after the restoration since they are using the front lightbar brackets that are on the car now. I’m surprised though. Sony spent $100,000 restoring that car, you’d think that shop would spend a few hours fabricating a set of mounting brackets to match the rear. Its a shame the original lightbar was swiped years ago.
