Hotwheels Elite has posted new photos of their completed prototype Ghostbusters Ecto-1 on their website here. This version is 1:43 scale (slightly larger than regular Hotwheels) and will be limited to less than 10,000 units. Also coming soon is a 1:18 scale version which if looks anything like this small scale prototype, will also be amazing. Unfortunately the description they provide for the car is full of incorrect information:
The Ecto-1 is the legendary vehicle that the Ghostbusters used to travel throughout the city busting ghosts. The vehicle used for the Ecto-1 was a 1959 Cadillac professional ambulance, built by the Miller-Meteor company and converted by Universal Studios. “GhostBusters” is the famous 1984 American comedy film about three eccentric New York City parapsychologists-turned-ghost exterminators. I am getting tired off all the Ecto replicas. I mean really, how many do we need? Hotwheels, Hallmark, ERTL, Johnny Lighting… If Sony wants to impress us, license a new movie and enough with the Ecto replicas.
