First time builder - Decisions decisions

I’ve never used Sintra myself, but I’ve heard a lot of good things about it, and I know there are a few people around here that use it. I remember GhostbustersFreek saying that he used to use styrene, but stumbled upon Sintra by accident (some guy told him it was high-impact styrene, though it has no relation to styrene whatsoever), and after that he’s sworn by Sintra.

By the way, Sintra is also called expanded PVC, as well as PVC foam.

awesome. I just had a look on GBFreeks Proton pack page and I’ve gotta say I love the way it looks. It said it was able to be cut with a utility knife although he didin’t recommend it.

It looks light, yet sturdy, esp. the way he reinforced the corners. I think we have a winner.

BTW, I just did a custom dye job on some of the kneepads I bought and I built the circuit board that is held on the belt out of a modem, PCB from a hard drive and some soldered on resistors I got from radio shack. Put them in a leather tape measure holder which I put 2 coats of black shoe polish on. I’ll post some pics and put them on my uniform page when I get access to a camera.

Thanks for the info Taran. I’m sure I’ll revisit this thread when I need some more help.

Later,

Dave

EDIT: Uniform pics up!!
