I wanted to give everyone who was interested in helping out by editing the site’s pages a way to visually track their work. When a certain level of contributions has been reached, you will gain a Free Supporting Membership. Check out the new meter on the bottom of the Supporting Membership page:

This is to help those who were confused by the Fund Drive meter who thought it was their Supporting Membership meter.
This is how it all works. Your goal is to fill the meter. You fill the meter by going to pages on the site and revising them. You add information when you can, or fix mistakes made by other users. When you make those rivisions, they will go into pending status. Your pending edits appear on the meter as grey.
If they aren’t removed or changed by another user for 10 days they will become verified. The verified edits show up on the meter as black. Once your meter is filled up with black you will have a Supporting Membership for a month… pending that you don’t already have one.
Keep the meter filled. Keep getting free Supporting Memberships..

What I meant to ask was, on the Supporting Fan Page, it asks if we want to upgrade for 2 or 3 dollars. If we do, does that mean that we only pay 2 or 3 dollars for an entire year, or just the month we unlocked?
It is only the month you unlocked.
Upgrades only upgrade your current length of time.
If you are interested in purchasing a Supporting Membership, you will be elegible for a Silver or Gold Membership for a reduced price once your membership expires (as long as you purchase one within 7 days of expiration).
I’ll take any excuse to go back through the GB:TVG section and update it with new stuff I’ve discovered. Must’ve beaten it like ten times already and it’s still fun. I’ll NEVER get sick of this game.

One thing I really need to stress. This is not just about getting a free Supporting Membership. I often hear from people “I will just give money..” or “Someone else can do it…” or “There is only so much to add…”
That’s not what Ghostbusters Fans is about. We currently have the largest Ghostbusters Wiki with over 3000 pages, but a lot of those pages are barren and some are blank. I cannot update those pages by myself, and no single person should be expected to do all the work. It is up to all of us to supply the information and knowledge that we have all amassed.
There will be no upper limit to the amount of information that can be had in the Ghostbusters Community. Someone needs to do the work, and I need your help to do it.
Please. Go out there, make some positive edits, add something where you can.. discuss changes when possible, ask for help.. etc. Just go out there and take the first step. Its impossible to screw up. If you do, someone will just undo it or fix it. Free Supporting Membership is just a perk… if you already have one, it shouldn’t be an excuse. Editing the Site is the most important way you can support GBFans.
Since this addition, 12 users have gotten enough edits to get Free Supporting Memberships! With another dozen and a half on the way. Keep it coming!
