As for Halloween, oh yes, I’ve got MAJOR plans for this baby. Spooky Empire 1 year ago I vowed to return this year with a working Evil Dead saw, and now I shall! Not to mention there will be a midnight screening of Evil Dead playing at a theater up the road from me AND a haunted swamp attraction there the same night! haha!

So anyway, I have redesigned the rig a bit to make it easier to use on the fly. Also I’m going to begin painting it tomorrow. Any suggestions on paintjob designs?
so will the wire that goes from the chest harness to the chainsaw be hidden?
It doesn’t need to be, does it? I thought he had the throttle cable lock into a holding claw on his chest, sort of the reverse of what we see here…

Could you add a “brace” coming out the bottom that extends about half way up your arm? It would greatly improve the weight balance against your wrist.. I would still be covered by the sleeve.
Well if you watch the ending of Evil Dead 2, the editing is a bit choppy in terms of the saw chord being attached or not, but from what I gathered, the original intention for the saw’s function was that Ash somehow re-wired it to where the ignition and the gas trigger worked off the rip chord, because it automatically starts to rev when he stretches the chord. Knowing I couldn’t pull that off, I compromised and had the trigger just attach and I could just start the saw by hand.
Several times during the ending portion though, the chainsaw chord is visibly still hooked to the shotgun harness while he’s using it (swinging at the long-necked Henrietta, stabbing the rotten apple head in the eyeball, etc) so I figured it would be fine to leave it visible.
As for a brace, I’m working on such a thing now, but sofar its not cooperating very well with the amount of space I’ve got in the saw’s wrist-cuff, and it pinches at certain angles, so I’m probably just gonna wrap my wrist in an athletic brace to keep it rigid.
