Not really a prop per say, but i decided to make a ghostbusters inspired dock for my ipod. Here are a couple pics. Sorry about the crappyish resolution, just snapped them with my cell phone cuz it was easier than digging out the digicam and messing with that. I know it appears to sit uneven, but since these were taken, I added legs for it to stand on, and I put all the wiring into split loom so it looks a lot cleaner.

That’s awesome! I love the idea and you executed it very well. I didn’t even really think it was possible to hook something up that would light when you’re charging your ipod!
It has an extra plugin to light up. I thought about putting a pressure switch in it so it would light up only with my ipod charging, but i’d rather it light up when empty so I can see the entire logo light up. Thanks for the compliments!
That is a great idea. Too bad the corporations that capitalize off of the iPod haven’t come out with an official one or at least stickers for the iPod accessories. It would be awesome to have an official accessory like that.
Did you leave the base red?
The base of it is actually made out of 2 1/2" Strips of red oak, and a 1/4" piece of Aspen in the middle. Glued it all together and sanded it so it all looks like one striped block of wood. I then dremeled out the slot for my ipod to sit in, and drilled holes to run the dock connector through. Kindof a pain, but much cheaper than the $100 that Apple sells, plus its got my favorite movie logo on it, and nobody else can say that they have one like it, at least not yet anyway. The logo itself is just a piece of 1/4" Lexan. Its purpose is to support the weight of the ipod at an angle, so not all the weight sits on that dock connector on the bottom. I then found the GB logo in the appropriate size, mirrored the image, and taped it to the Lexan. I used an engraving bit on a dremel to ‘etch’ the logo on the back of the plexi so that when it was viewed from the front, it was in the correct orientation. Then i threw a few superbright green LED’s i had laying around underneath it, soldered up some resistors, and the rest is history.
